lol fair point MrsMac2b. to be honest thats why i've started so early (not getting married til Sept 09) then i figure i only need do one or two bits a week so hopefully won't get tedious. i also plan to do it like a production line! so my first step is going to be to do the outers. then once they are done i will print the inserts and put them in and so on.

I did mine over a couple of days with a bit of help from my bridesmaids and H2b. Oh and a guillotine from school. :D Made about 60 day invites and 40 evening. Wasn't too bad plus I put in a reply slip & S.A.E. Computer labels are great!!

I thought I was all but finished until OH decided last night to invite another 16 people to the evening do... He's convinced most people won't come... I can see us having 140 people turn up and buffet for 80!

Anyway... Of to do some more heat embossing!

My OH has done something similar - apparantly he has put an open invitation out at his work - until I mentioned it he hadn't thought about the evening food - men

    Hi

I was wondering if I could have your opinions please. I have just finishing buying all of the things I need to make our invites. I saw them at a wedding show and decided to make them myself. All going to plan until I realised I have bought way too many items. we have 77 people being invited so I bought enough to do 100 invites but only this evening realised most people are in couples or families so don’t need to send individual invites and only need 40. So my question is do you think I would make my money back my just selling the items as is or do I make up all the invites but leave the scroll blank and sell them on eBay. I have worked out if I sell 25 invites for £20 I will make a small profit.

I would like honest opinions, so if you don’t think they would sell please say.

deb_buffy maybe you could advertise them on ebay using pics of your made up ones and then if someone buys you can make them (just put in the advert a rough time scale) and then if they don't sell, just sell the pieces. might work?

If you're going to make them up to sell. People would probably want ribbon to co-ordinate with their colours on them and they will probably expect the scrolls to be completed.

You could always make up one and see what happens but to be honest I think they could be time consuming to make for what you would get for them. I'd be tempted to sell them as a diy kit for invites so someone else gets to do all the work :rotfl:

I agree with paddington, sell them as an 'all you need to make this' item...

    Lovely novel invites though!
