    cheers
don't know about the invites but the postcards do unless you remove it :p.

just make sure you check the back of the thing you are ordering and ask for it blank.

  • I bought Kodak photo paper from W.H.Smiths reduced from £6.99 to £1.99 and am printing of photos of my highland castle venue to use on invites.I will buy nice white blanks with a window cut out from ebay and stick on the photo.A bit of purple satin ribbon at one side to decorate.Insets will be printed using free programme downloaded from M&S.
I am only having to do 14 lots of stationery(tiny wedding)The invites, order of service and menus will cost me £12.My daughter is making the save the date cards.

So how much would you say the total cost of the materials etc were?
I've got some car making tools but find the thought of making 70 odd invites a bit daunting

I'm spending just over £40 on 100 invitations.

I'm using a plain ivory insert (printed myself) in a handmade 'grass' card which is ready folded.
The ourside will have a ribbon (bought by the roll on ebay) down the fold side, with a b+w photo (2"x3" - photobox prints cut to size) mounted on different handmade paper and stuck on the front with those spongy sticky pads.
All that, including envelopes (but excluding pads and double sided sticky tape) is coming in at £39.
The paper and card is all recycled and coming from eco craft, who will send excellent samples if asked.

Watch this space for the results!

I spent about £15 all together but I've only made 25 day invites and the evening ones are just the vistaprint postcards.

This has covered favour boxes, place cards (not using them now) table numbers a guest book and thank you cards but I have gone for a simple design and I had the sizzix dies already.

It depends how complicated your design is and what stocks you have already as to how much it will cost. If you want to use vellum it's going to make them more expensive.

This is really interesting and the cards look amazing! What a talented lot you are.

I was going to order from Vista, but think I'll have a look at doing it myself first!

just out of interest, what made you come to that conclusion mrs mac 2b?
i've considered both options and plumped for making my own (though i totally understand that is not for everyone). the ones i like, to have what we want (90 invites, 90 rsvp cards, 90 thank yous, 50 placecards) was going to be in the region of £600!! i've decided to make my own and even buying some of the more expensive bits its costing me £100. that was the conclusion for me!!
