Vista print is my second option, I got my save the date magnets from there and think they are fab. I just like the personal touch of making the invites myself. Saying that thoiugh I went to Hobbycraft yesterday and it looked like I would have to spend quite a bit to get what I would like. My idea is to have a gatefold card with layered handmade paper in the centre, obviously only stuck to one half, and a heart in the middle of that. Then a stamp saying 'Wedding/evening' top left and 'invitation' bottom right. Do you think this sounds any good? If any of you have any ideas on how to improve on this idea please share! They didn't sell the gatefold invite either so anyone know where can I pick them up?

The best bet is to browse the crafting websites, there are squillions of them!

I got my hand made paper from https://www.glittermonster.co.uk (I've ordered from there a couple of times and the service is great!) and my cards were from https://www.craftsuperstore.co.uk. I just had the normal folded cards but they're good quality and cheap price.

I've used vista print postcards for the wording inside on mine and used offcuts to make favour boxes table numbers and as decoration for the outside of everything. I'm pretty pleased with them even though I say so myself :D.

As far as gatefold cards are concerned you would probably be better buying card and a scoring board and making your own as the blanks tend to be pretty expensive. I paid £5 from ebay for my scoring board and its really earned its keep. You can get a whole box of card for under £5. Try here http://www.thepapermillshop.co.uk/acatalog/Pick_n_Mix.html

They also now do favour boxes.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
  • I made our wedding invitations.

We bought some pre-folded blank cards and matching envelopes from http://www.justpapers.co.uk

My favourite flowers are orange Gerberas - (hence my nickname) and we decided orange and gerberas would be our theme.

We bought a paper cutter from a local craft shop (cost about a fiver) to create the flower on the front.

I've scanned the invite we did... It hasn't reproduced very well - unfortunately, you can't really see the embossed section.

I think it looks better 'in the flesh' :) It looks a bit white in the scan, but it's really cream.

Here is a very poor quality photo of the invites I've made... Nearly finished... Just need to give them all out now!

That's lovely, how did you do the actual "Wedding Invitation" writing?

I didn't do the 'wedding invitation' writing, they're die cuts. 80p for 10... I did the LOVE with a stamp and then heat embossed it though, particularly proud of that part!
