Neighbours waterlogging our garden...

The pool would appear to have a leak? Perhaps neighbour is not aware? Maybe he is and that is why he moved it to the edge of his garden.
I would try the friendly neighbour approach, but I would not be fobbed off. If negotiation fails, the water board might not like him wasting water.
If he's on a meter it must be costing him a right fortune to keep filling it up. Perhaps that's the way to play it (fake concern) 'I think your pool must have sprung a leak - as well as making our garden like a country bog you must be skint from the bills?" Worth a go?0 -

Assuming the pool has had chlorine added to the water I doubt the environmentl people will be too impressed wither. In fact, he's probably breaking 1/2 a dozen laws.
If the pools leaking he'll need to fix it... repair kits arn't expensive. If it's simply the kids splashing water over the sides then dropping the water level will do the trick.
Oh... and if he's flooding your garden it's criminal damage, plain and simple.Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0 -
I've got one of those pools...(mine doesn't leak though and my kids are soo poofy they don't go in it unless it's 26 Degrees or above so limited splashing) but.......it will be chemicaled up so it will be chlorinated and have anti algaecide in it...shouldn't be allowed to 'leak' into the surrounding land, and it will be costing him too to keep it filled.....I'd tell him nicely twice, then resort to stronger tactics if he doesn't do something within a week or so because his actions are hurting you and you don't have to put up with it....like many other posters, he probably has no clue how it is affecting you so tell him nicely and see where you go from there. The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never of any use to oneself. (Oscar Wilde);)0

LOL! Some of the advice is cheeky and tempting but could cause more trouble so I'll try the nice approach!
Yep, he's on a meter and it does appear to be chemicaled up as he checks it everyday and cleans it.
It's definately not a leak, it's the 3 kids (3 boys plus any friends they invite!) jumping in the pool and playing games like 'lets make waves' which appears to be great fun but a bloomin' nuisance when you can hear/see the water splashing against/coming through the fence! The noise they make was bad enough last year but add in the water problem and it's a serious pain in the !!!. Dropping the level could work but I doubt it with their children as they are typical boys.
Luckily the kids haven't been around for a few days so it's dried up in this weather, but we will get him round next time it's bad and ask nicely what he plans to do to fix it.
ETA: think we'll be going round to see him later, as kids playing in it now and it's slightly soggy to put it mildly!! need wellies up that end by the fence.Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T0
