Just got back from Boots, had a good shop except for a slightly sullen SA.

I got:
-Sanctuary Lomi Lomi Body Oil (thanks to whoever mentioned it; I always forget who says what!) - £3.98 (which was half price)
-No7 speed dry polish - £1.25 after printed coupon
-No7 eye shadow brush - 75p after printed coupon! (separate transaction)

Here's where the SA got a big sullen: Had bought a little giftset meant for my mom -- then she mentions on the phone that she doesn't really like body wash, she uses bar soap. No big deal, I'm in Boots all the time and I can bring it back. I save all my receipts in an Expert tin, and didn't feel like searching through a *huge* pile as I knew I wanted to buy more things anyway so I could just exchange.
All was fine with doing the exchange, but when I handed over the coupon for No7, the SA tried to scan and it wouldn't. So she says you can't use coupons because you're doing an exchange (or something like that). I said yes you can, because I've done it before. Just try entering in the barcode. (I used a different coupon once with an exchange and it worked fine; all seems to work as though you are making any other purchase with cash -- I guess because they put extra money on a giftcard, which also can be spent like cash, meaning you can use coupons and earn points). So she entered it, then slowly went about putting my extra amount on the giftcard, without letting me know if it even worked! It did though, and I was joking about how I come in so often I know what works, guess that means I shop too much, haha. Silence from her. So I did my separate transaction for the brush, and she still seemed, well, odd. Like I'd ticked her off? I couldn't tell if she was mad because I knew her job better than she did, or if she was suspicious and wondered what I was up to since I knew so much about how their system works. It put a damper on what would've been a fun shop that I actually woke up looking forward to.

Also, I had to put my name and address on a form for the return. It always struck me as odd that Boots never did this before, but it was fine by me as it's much quicker not to do that. I think in future I'll just dig up the receipts! Or if I want to use a coupon, just let them give me the giftcard and then buy it using the giftcard and the coupon!

Skibster - you're lucky with the giftcard IMO, as when I tried to return something without a receipt (have too many to look through as well ) she told me they don't do giftcards if you have no receipt. You have to exchange it for something there and then of a similar value. I could see this was not going to work for me as I had coupons to use with my purchase, so have left the return for another day. Perhaps I should try a different store .

Play exclamation eau de toilette £1.73 For me - so generous:D don't know what it smells like but a nice shaped bottle

can I be really cheeky and ask if anyone has any spare memory card vouchers they won't use cos may take them back and rebuy with vouchers:rotfl:(can you do that:D)

is it the colour you don't like or the varnish? has anyone else found that it chips really easily? I only put it on last night and bits have already come off. I don't use nail varnish very often so maybe that is normal or maybe it's just the way I put it on:rotfl:

Boo, no glamour mags in Boots (nor wh smiths) but managed to get one in a newsagents and the last one in M&S! YAH!!! it seemed impossible to tell from the box which colour it was but some kind (!!) soul had pulled the plastic and opened the top of the box so I turned it out to confirm it was a different shade. Sorted!
