    hi passion8,
maybe it's just my greasy skin!! ha!!
it's not great staight onto any dry patches. I don't use any particular moisturiser first just whatever's to hand but i allow time for it to soak in first. this is cos the application is quite absorbent and i've found that if i put the MF on straight after some lotion it will try to wipe the lotion up and compact on the application and then get more of a caked look. would be just easier getting out the old trough(!).....

Thanks again lm07 :) Had to snip the post, sorry ;) but it's that caked effect that I seem to have achieved the few times I've tried it. I'll try again with it using different moisturisers, but the whole texture of the foundation itself just seems wrong  Maybe I've got too used to the liquid foundations.

Trough sounds good though, or trug and trowel :D

No Passion hun it's not just you, it comes to us all eventually. But all you young ladies look away now as this might make you nauseous. You will have to deal with this in your later years;)

Ladies of a certain age... Cough... should always use a really good moisturiser otherwise its like painting a newly plastered wall with emulsion, the plaster just sucks up the paint:eek:  with that horrible slurpy sound and your face will feel and look 'set' You will then get the 'Barbara Cartland effect'

    Face
I always use Olay regenerist serum (Don't skimp).
    Then the (really good) moisturiser.
Then the foundation,(the highly intelligent one from No 7)
Then the bronzer.(At the moment I use a Revlon one from poundland as Boots changed theirs and put all different colours in it, and I looked like coco the clown with it (I bought 2 as well)

Re the layers, I only use a sunscreen F50 + a tinted moisturiser with a sun factor. Try it and see. The No7 tinted moisturiser is good for this.

I can no longer mix Serum + moisturiser + foundation + sunscreen as I always feel like I want to peel a few layers off   and I can never get my sunhat on properly :D

Re the lips. I use the No7 lip screen (with optional lippy on top)

HTH (My bill is in the post)

hiya pollsdolls :) Funny you should mention Barbara Cartland, as I imagine that's the effect that particular MF foundation would give if not used with the right moisturiser

I'll have to copy and paste the above (cheque's in the post btw ;)) but if I had to go through all of that rigmarole, I'd be putting my make-up on before I went to bed, instead of taking it off :rotfl:

When dd got married, we had a professional beautician doing the make-up, and that what you mentioned about being able to peel it off was exactly how I felt that day:confused: I couldn't stand it, there was layers and layers of what I can only imagine was how grease paint feels like ;)

I need to rethink this whole thing LOL. Sorry to quote all of the post - didn't know quite where to snip it. But as a basic summary, I need a good primer to put under the emulsion? :D Either that or use geordie_lass's sunglasses and hairstyle combo :rotfl:

Thank you all the same x

Why oh why do a few SAs seem to enjoy being nasty? All she had to do was ring it up, and tell you no if it beeped ... which it wouldn't have. But good for you for walking off, and that SA just did herself out of a commission.

I know Bootsing is a smaller scale, but it makes me think of the scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts went back to the shop that wouldn't serve her before, her arms laden with thousands of dollars of shopping, and said, "You work on commission, don't you? Big mistake!" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Skibster you are absolutely right, don't understand how their brains work and what's the benefit of being nasty.
Anyway went upstairs and told the lovely SA honestly that the No7 SAs are "scary" and I don't like paying there, she laughed and said she found them quite intimidating too:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

If it's a lovely SA then it will be interpreted as Saturday is last day, if it's a nasty one then Friday :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Boots could do with price scanners like you get in Tesco's that would be so helpful.;)

i totally agree with that. thing about the tesco scanners is that it doesn't tell you if it is part of an offer which i think it should. I would deffo buy more if i knew it was on 342 or something

   Thinks I will steer clear of TB from now on, don't like the sound of that ingredient.

I think the best one to put in the TB and all the products is the one that clouds the judgement of all SA's and makes them issue treble pts for every purchase. (I wish):rotfl: :rotfl:

have you been at the drink cabinet again polls? :rotfl:
