Thats a very good point, didnt think of it like that.

Buffet actually stated this as a big positive for banks as it means spreads are larger then ever before and profitability quite likely on their current business, the thinking behind his bank pref shares no doubt

Here is a !!!!!! video for you addicts, lots of graphs in here after a short clip of schiff in 2002 with his familiar retoric.

Brought to you by those nice people at the FT.
It certainly seems to offer a much quicker way of finding something useful than blundering about on Google.
I cannot see it remaining free for long.

So including inflation say, we're back to 2003 prices roughly.
Doesnt seem unreasonable to expect some recovery as we approach 100k average,
eg. 122k assuming 100k in 2002 was true to an average and 3% long term growth

The difference in those lines shows the difference in mortgage business valuations a commercial bank operated ?

there only mortgage approvals of less than 30% of the mortgage market - they're not to be taken too seriously :p

I take it seriously, it says we have 12% and 16% falls from a year ago. Which is suitably gloomy and the other argument would be the 'less worse' perspective
Did the market fall in a straight line in 1990 or did the rate of descent vary
