Developer offers chance to 'live free for a year'
A property developer in Wandsworth is offering residents the chance to "live free for a year" in a bid to shift flats. The one-and-two bedroom apartments in Hardwick Square in the town centre cost from £249,950 to £350,000, but 10 buyers will also be given up to £20,000 worth of lifestyle incentives.
The offer includes a £100 per month mobile phone bill, £80 a week in Waitrose vouchers, a Virgin Active gym membership worth £75 a month and a year’s zone 1 and 2 travel card. Council tax will also paid for the year, and buyers will get £10,000 off the asking price as part of the deal, which lasts until the end of February.
Nick Vaughan, director of Hamptons International who market the flats, said: “This is a fantastic lifestyle offer and could not come at a better time, with many people worrying from one month to the next about paying their bills. This not only covers many of the day-to-day bills, but also allows a little luxury guaranteed to lift the mood.”

The local estate agents seem to be getting ever more desperate in their futile attempts to move properties at unrealistic prices.
Just along the road from me is a 3 bedroom semi which has come on the market because the owner recently died and the solicitors want to settle the estate. The very first day the estate agent offered the property, the advert said "JUST REDUCED - WAS £425,000 NOW £375,000". This is just a bare-faced lie as the property was never offered at £425,000.
Even at £375,000, they'll have to find a right mug to sell to.

That one is the funniest I thinkChuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
For the price of a quite nice 2 bedder in a dock town you could buy a lovely Queenslander a few minutes from the beach in a small QLD town and have enough capital left over that all you'd need would be a hobby job; not even that if you're frugal.0

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
