Part buy 25-75% / Part Rent 75-25%.
regularly drive past this "development". A number of neighbouring houses on this road have auction boards outside :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

In central Leicester they are offering rent of only 1% pa on the portion of the property you haven't actually bought.
I wonder why
Coincidentally, there's a hell of a lot of derelict land with brownfield development potential within easy walking distance of the centre.0 -
My Wednesday fix from the Evening Standard Property section brings a foreign slant to proceedings this week.
From www.grupoladera.com
"Exclusive and unique Spanish apartments 29-35% DISCOUNT. THIS WEEK ONLY."
[Explanation - next week the discount could rise to 40% :rotfl: ]
With Santander downgrading some of its Spanish mortgage portfolios by 35% these discounts are merely reflecting current falls in the market, not what the future will bring.
However, if you are prepared to listen to some property garbage in return for Tapas and wine, then get down to La Tasca, 21 Essex Road, Islington on Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th September for presentations at 12.00 and 15.00.

Closer to home we have more presentations from www.propertyinvestor.co.uk
Why are conditions perfect for serious property investors?
And a little further afield we have Market Harborough, Leicestershire one bed apartments @ £130K claiming that they offer "London on your doorstep".
I'd have thought a trip to the auction house to pick up a similar South Croydon flat @ £75K might save you an hour or a hundred :rolleyes:0 -
Barratt trumps the Chancellor's half measures on stamp duty.
Barratt abolishes stamp duty on ALL its new homes up to £500K (would anyone pay more than than for any house built by Barratt? )
So that's a £10K bung from Barratt to the Chancellor on a £330K new home.0 -

This was at the back of Metro this morning too... Anyone tempted? I thought not!0 -
Has anyone ever seen that carry on film (abroad I think) where the hotel is falling down because of the landslide and the hotel owner is running around trying to get everyone out of the hotel before it collapses, but no-one is listening because they are having a good time? Several months ago I felt like that man when a friend of ours bought a new build flat (sorry luxury apartment) and I tried soooo hard to tell him they would drop.

I clicked on this link and got an invitation for a virus scan, which I turned off in double quick time.
Call me paranoid, but there is an invitation to take a virus scan doing the rounds that installs a particularly nasty piece of malware onto your machine. One that you probably have to pay an "expert" to delete.
I was not going to hang around to read anything.:mad:0 -
The Barratt offers get ever more desperate.
Guardian
"....The housebuilder says it will 1) scrap stamp duty on properties worth up to £500,000, 2) pay up to £1,000 a month of a customer's mortgage till 2010 and allow new purchasers to 3) pay only 85% of the price immediately with the rest being paid over the next 10 years. In addition, Barratt is promising to 4) shoulder up to 15% of any loss on a house bought from the company but sold over a three year period as well as 5) paying moving costs and offering to 6) help people move up the housing ladder by buying their old home off them in a part-exchange......"
Not surprisingly Barratt admits the outlook for its business and the housing market is "grim".
You don't say
The background is as follows:
"...Barratt revealed that profits before tax had plunged from £424.8m to £137.3m while operating margins were down and the number of houses completed slumped by 14%. The final year dividend has been ditched and the value of the land bank written down by £208m.."0 -
Boomer!! Im shocked - you have not let us know of this barratt bargain!
Submit a brochure request and you'll be able to print off a voucher to get £1,000 off a Barratt Home. Terms and Conditions* apply.

Dont all flock now, or they might withdraw this quality offer! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Wimpey and Bryant have a similar offer but it seems you only have to pay 75% of the initial price.0
