DailyClicker, I am sorry some people on here fail to understand that they are talking to a teenager an not an adult, a little compassion wouldn't go a miss.
As it is only £2 I do suggest that you pay, but why are you dealing with this yourself?
I think it would be best if you handed it to one of your parents to handle. They can write a cheque and take the stress off your shoulders. Maybe you should get one of those proof of age cards and keep it in your school bag at all times so next time it happens you can prove you pay child fare.

If you don't pay, they may send you a reminder but they will not arrest you and give you a criminal record(like some have suggested) Any judge will throw it out as it will cost them way to much, just to gain £2 from a child. But do let your parents deal with it.

Maybe it would be more pc to advise him to get his carer to sort this out.

Not everyone is in the care of actual parents!

Blimey CCTV for £2 I would be worried if our taxes were being spent on this. I think it’s time to write nice letter to Boris and explain your predicament. I think they should be more interested in finding the thugs and the taggers which are causing criminal damage and costing a lot more then £2.

    I take this view:-

A legitimate school kid has forgotten his pass.

Bus driver issues a yellow ticket

Why when you next blip in you hand your slip over to the driver then checks it matches your oyster card and the fine is wiped.

I think you should write to Mayor Boris Johnson about this inefficient policy that was put in place by his predecessor Ken Livingstone.

It’s meant to be free travel so why issue fines all you should do is issue a ticket however if you can provide proof you have a valid pass the fine is wiped.

It’s all seems very silly to me you are either going to give kids free travel or you not.

I bet if you was an illegal immigrant there would be no issues.
