It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Lucifa - don't let them get to you, they sound like a right bunch of spoilt brats. See what you can do to make new and better friends - the uni crowd seem like a bunch of twonks and are certainly not friends more like irritating acquaintances.

I have had a busy day today, I had my coursework come for my diploma and this afternoon I got it out of this massive box and started to look and see what I had got for my £520:eek: (I didnt pay I got a grant from the jobcentre). I had a file of course notes with assignments, a notebook, a folder to keep stuff in and a jolly nice document case with a zip round it and a few other bits n bobs. Hope I get a house point or something because I have already done my first assignment and sent it off:j

    Hope everyone is hunkydory today.

I did a quick assignment also this afternoon on ground rules. 2 more assignments to do, but also the teaching session to prepare as well as the lesson plan and scheme of work!
I can't believe there are only 3 more sessions of my course to go!!

I must be mad. Sigh. Need them though to try to keep my head above water. I clear £525 per month after tax for my admin job, try to do £650 per month before tax on AQA so together will have just enough to pay the bills and get food, and the teaching hours will (I think) be at £19 per hour, so that will be £38 per week before tax for 8 weeks at a time. If it is extended to 16 weeks, I'll get around £600 per school year before tax for my teaching, so still not a huge amount extra each month.

    Apparently I used to have a life.......

I have to confess, I do look on in envy at those in a joint financial situation. Just £200- £300 or so a month extra would mean such a lot to me.

Or, a job at the level of my old salary, where I cleared £1800 a month - god, that seems such a huge amount now, £700 a month more! But no point wishing for that really!

Crikey O'riley - when do you eat?

(What's AQA by the way - I've seen it mentioned a couple of times)

And teaching as well -is that adult learning or kids?

I'm dead impressed - its all I can do to keep on top of my 9-5
