Thank you every one for all your suggestions.

I've looked around at them all. And the other deals look good - and are good value for money if you want a mega fast connection.

The conclusion I've come to is that the tisacli deal is actually the best deal I've seen for phone AND broadband together. I foudn out about the things I was worried about:

The Fair Usage Deal - it's not a cap as I thought, it's just to stop peopel takign the mick downloading movies and stuff constantly.

The contract: They can't chaneg the price - if you're with them for 12 months it is at £19.99

Calls: Yep, true - all landline calls are free. I presume mobiles may be pricey - need to look at their prices for that, but I dare say use one of the companies Martin suggests in guide I suppose.

So I'm going to give tisacli ago - the only thing is I coudl be without Broadband for 2 weeks as they change from BT - which is a BT thing actually. Not impressed with that - have to think of a plan!!

I would have a good long read of these forums for Tiscali or Pipex before signing up with either of them....

sorry for the silly question, but dont pipex and tesco and tiscali still rely on you having a BT (or phone) line and paying your £10.50 for it each month?

unfortunately YES.. i know that NTL does not require a BT line for BB
  • beware - Tiscali customer service is truly awful. Im on 2mb broadband and unlimted telephone calls for £22 month - yet i have to dial a 0870 number and pay to speak to them. which wouldnt be a problem if you could get through to them. im switching as soon as contarct up
