  • I bought mine on ebay for around £35 inc postage, but there's a couple on ebuyer for around £30 now. I don't know if the search will work: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=UFNQcm9kdWN0U2VhcmNoUmVzdWx0cw%3D%3D&mfr_uid=-1&cat_uid=39&keywords=router&order_col=sell_price&order=ASC&show=stock&Submit=filter

Look on https://www.hotukdeals.com under Amazon.co.uk, there's a great deal there for £54 for a Netgear wireless router/modem and wireless usb dongle.

That deal includes a wireless router that has an inbuilt modem. I'm not sure of the Telewest setup, whether they give you a modem etc..., but if you just want a router (no inbuilt modem) then the KCorp KLG575 came top of the PC Pro Labs test and is on their A-List. I've had one for a few weeks now and it's been brilliant, and at £40-45 it's very well priced too.

  • Sory, I forgot to mention about getting a built in router. Mine from ebay is, it's a BT Voyager 2100 - very easy to set up but one of the most expensive if you buy it direct from BT.

Do you have a few devices to attach to the broadband connection??

If yes a router is preferable but if you only have 1 pc to connect no router is needed.

Telewest provide you with a cable modem that plugs into 1 machine via either USB or ethernet.

Hey, this is a great deal. Only problem is that the voucher doesn't work. Can anyone help
  • I don't think it's so great. On ebay a wireless router with modem should be around £35 as I said. Wireless cards will be less than £15.

Kept having this message after the promotion code is inserted:
    "Important Message
We're sorry, but we didn't recognize the promotional claim code you entered. Perhaps you typed it incorrectly or you are trying to use a code that's not valid for the items in your Shopping Basket? (Some promotional claim codes can only be applied to items sold directly by Amazon.co.uk.) "
Switched to another PC to make sure if it's not cookies problem yet it still doesn't work.
  • The Netgear ones are great. They come with good software and instructions (not always the case with cheaper models) and they are backed by a good technical support phone line......my housemate really sang their praises while I (his more technical minded landlord) was away from home and he had broadband problems.
