If it pongs or has lots of 'bits' in it i chuck it.
i dispose of it by filling up an empty squash bottle and binning the oil that way.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

One that is on my shopping list is the Actifry - not cheap but you only need a small amount of oil so more healthy and hygenic. Others have posted their comments about Actifry in the past.

Write up from Lakeland (apparently it is available cheaper elsewhere):

I know they're not healthy before you all shout at me!!
I'm considering buying one to make home made chips... we only have chips about once a fortnight and the other day I was talking to friends about how our mums used to make yummy home made chips in a chip pan on the hob and that oven chips just arent the same!
I'd never contemplate a chip pan but thought maybe a small cheap deep fat fryer may do the job a couple of times a month

When the grandchildren come, the first thing they want is real chips
(Home made with real potatoes.)I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -

lol I'm still the same when I visit my grandparents (I'm in my mid twenties tho!)
Just one question;
If you fill it with oil to cook your chips do you have to throw the fat away afterwards? How does it work?
I'd only be cooking chips every fortnight really :rolleyes:

We only change the oil (or preferably Beef Dripping) when it starts to foam right up while you are cooking.
It will last quite a few months.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0
