Was the sausages from "our" recipe thread?

haven't seen that thread ... they were from a butcher approved by our Breakfast Club* & were very nice, not your supermarket sawdust sausages

*a group of us meet on the second Sunday of each month & have breakfast ... bacon, sausages, eggs, black pudding, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, tattie scones (it is a Scots breakfast after all) etc, etc ... we choose a different butcher each month & award points, winning butchers get a certificate of approval :D

EDIT ... or did you mean the recipe??? just got back from the pub & am not too compus-mentus :o

oooooooh, bad idea ... getting back from pub peckish & big casserole full of tasty sausages sitting there, not sure if there'll be any left by morning
  • Oh you lucky things, I still haven't bought a slowcooker because they are quite pricey here and I do want to get a decent one. Same with the breadmaker, OH wants one with timer so must save a bit harder (although OH keeps asking where we will put all this gadgets as already have little surface space in the kitchen....ho hum). On the upside, I am waiting on the delivery of my yoghurt maker woohoo and Rice cooker (not sure if I need one but at 7 dollars I didn't care). You guys are making me skint :D I love you :rotfl: Any experience with ricecookers anyone?

Next time someone complains that you are buying stuff - count up how much you have saved. Stuff like a slow cooker and a breadmaker is an investment that will pay for itself and save you money.

I would love to see your sisters face if you present your dad with a home made loaf and a really tender lamb stew!;)

The BM will also do pizza dough and dough for rolls, fruit cake and mine makes jam:j

  • My next door neighbour just called from the supermarket cos she was standing infront of the baking products (her hubbie lusts after the Panasonic too) - she asked if I wanted her to get me stuff....I didn't know what to get! :rotfl: I'd like to bake organic (as much as poss)....what should my starter kit be?

After my sucess with a beef stew in my slow cooker, I now want to cook mince for Bol sauce, how long should I cook it for? have browned it in the frying pan and put it in the cooker with onions, tinned toms, red wine, garlic, tomato puree and a beef stock cube.

Intend to cook it overnight again. So will be setting the timer.

If the cooker is full up, about 3 or 4 hours on high, or 6 hours on low. Can be left on longer if necessary. Do you have any mixed herbs to add in too?

I've seen timings that vary anywhere from four hours to ten - so somewhere in the middle should get you close :)
