When you use a slow cooker - the meat just falls off the bone - no matter what kind of meat it is.

That's sooo funny Elona! I went to my Pa's the other day and as I was cleaning his kitchen noticed a pile of cooked lamb chops on the side. I suggested that I put them in the fridge (he's always leaving food about) and he said that he was leaving them in the garden for the foxes (it was ALL the meat out of my sisters' stew) :rotfl: She called whilst I was there and said "has Dad eaten all the stew I made"...I didn't have the heart to tell her!
So, yes, it would be major oneupmanship to make a good one!Owned by [STRIKE]4[/STRIKE] 4 cats: 2 x Maine coon cross males, 1 x Pixie Bob male and[STRIKE] 2[/STRIKE] 1 x Norwegian Forest male....cute!

well, our first slow cooker meal was a great success, it was so tasty I didn't need to add any gravy granules at the end of the cooking
only probelm is, it's so long since we've had a proper stew-type home-cooked meal, we ate twice as much as usual! ... need to go & lie down now
can't wait to try something else :drool:0 -

had my first Slow Cooker meal today - chicken casserole, and for the first time it was all finished, usually eating it for lunch the next day, but nope all gone.
it was nice, did all the work first thing, and cam home mid-afternoon, smelling the casserole, ready to eat anytime.
I think its one of my best buys for the kitchen so far, best go check on the recipes and see what i can make next0 -
I made stewed sausages in onion gravy, I'd been craving it. I've had no cooker since I moved here 4 months ago & have been confined to using the microwave & George Foreman grill, so tonight's tea was a real treat
I'm a big curry fan, so will definitely be checking out Curry Queen's recipes & that ginger chicken of squeaky's looks good too
but I've just had a request for Dublin Coddle, so that may well be the next experiment0 -
Was the sausages from "our" recipe thread?
AND....I've only gawn and ordered a BM just now (sitting at 'puter with a glass o' wine...inhibitions gone). My OH says that since I joined this site I've spent more than I've saved.... :rotfl:Owned by [STRIKE]4[/STRIKE] 4 cats: 2 x Maine coon cross males, 1 x Pixie Bob male and[STRIKE] 2[/STRIKE] 1 x Norwegian Forest male....cute!

It will balance out! ... I promise you!
My first month or two on this site cost me a fortune too in buying all the "bargains" as well as a new slow cooker and BM... but the savings I've made since have been more than worth it :j
Have you checked out the utility boards to reduce gas/electric/phone/internet bills etc yet? I've cut my monthly bills by around two-thirds thanks to suggestions over there. I even have a proper savings account now LOL!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
