Great to see what you look like Bright-Idea, PCL and PLG! :D Lovin' your golf pic Ajax, where was that taken? (Don't say on the golf course).

I've been out cycling this morning and for some reason I felt sluggish and it seemed more of an effort than usual. That's so unusual for me (can't remember ever feeling like that actually). Maybe I'll have a break from the exercise tomorrow.

Tagz how dare you say 2lb loss is not a huge amount  Since the New Year I've only had a 2lb+ loss FOUR times and most/all of those were not particularly genuine (i.e. temporary gain the week before so it just looks good). Tsk :p [edited to add congratulations btw ;)]

    thansk guys :)

pink kenya was fabulous, its a beautiful county and days spent driving across it showed us so much of it.

ajax i think vix gets the baby position :) and i think pinklipgloss is not far above her. im 30 sshh dont feel it though and keep forgetting im a responsible adult. i don't do ironing at the best of times, in fact my brand new iron is still in its box 5 years after i bought it and i dont have an ironing board. but all my clothes were crumpled in kenya, we could only bring one small suitcase and different hotel every night on safari meant crumpled clothes.

katie the long haul is down to my sister, she is talking egypt or cape verde this year. 2002 was goa. i am certainly not averse to them though (and she pays else i couldn't go anywhere).

body image, actually when those photos were taken i wasnt too annoyed wiht my size, its the 3+stone that have gone on since last nov i hate.

k guys i have brisket of beef, carrots and red wine. what else should i add to cook beef in slow cooker? (i will go hunt the recipie threads later too)

What is the best exercise for weight loss? Im not really into gyms so anything requiring machinery is out!!

just general cardio exercise, walking, swimming, cycling etc i believe are best. i ahve a aerobics dvd i sometimes do, but now im more of a gym person, much to my schock.
  • mzdot.

i only started my journey a few short weeks ago, and i found my exercise bike is my friend.

i do 30 mins (at low intensity, but some things ive read say if you can do 15 mins at a higher resistance is more beneficial - dont know if this is true) 3 times a week and i sweat like a pig when i do it so am guessing its a good sign and i love it now, kinda get grumpy if i dont get full time (other half cooks dinner when im on, so my metabolism is higher when im eating)

if you dont have a bike, theres plenty of things you can do indoors without a gym.

http://sparkpeople.com/resource/exercise_demos.asp is wonderful because it has exercises you can do at home. Start with doing a 3 day a week workout and see how you go?

i know it says weights but i was told bottles of water are just as effective!

Whaa...!!???? So many pages to catch up on

So firstly many congrats to all the losers and STSs who I haven't individually said congrats to :T

Secondly - what fabulous photos you all take  . I'm so glad that I don't have any photos to post :rotfl: I do have one question for Ajax - how did you manage to miss the ball? It's big enough to see... >< :rotfl:

Don't know about not being here later Vix. I was searching through a load of favourites in my browser (I really must sort them out!) and came across this http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=372564&page=2 - check out the weight loss chart, there are one or two of us still around :j

Think that's it for now. Desk looks like an explosion in a paper factory :(

Oh - who's going to the cricket (just checked - it's Vix - shoulda guessed better!) Take a big sign and try to get hold of a mike to shout out a big hello!!! I'll be doing my ironing while keeping an eye on the action but might miss you

Welcome mzdotokay, I'm no expert on exercise but I do think that the most important thing is that you do something (perhaps I feel too strongly about this, as I get very frustrated when I can't do exercise). Personally, I love cycling - not sure If you would count a bike as "machinery"! Just choose something that you enjoy - so that you'll be more likely to stick with it - and do it regularly. Best wishes with your weight loss.

Thanks for all the pics everyone, sorry I'm not brave enough right now to post anything - and have a long way to go before my after photos! I'd really like everyone to stay here rather than facebook please.

Been having a really bad day today :( . Was supposed to take son on a bus to town to get Father's day things, but by the time I had faffed around trying to get things done for over 2 hours, and still hadn't found his reins, my leg was way to painful to go. Ended up shouting at son for something quite trival which I really didn't mean to do and now he's asleep again. Not sure when I'm going to get prezzies! OK, so all that was really trival and the leg thing is self inflicted as it's related to the riding incident, but I find all these little setbacks quite difficult to deal with sometimes. I'm just really fed up with the whole pain endurance thing.

    Sorry for the rant guys!

pinklipgloss you look fab! Are you sure your thighs are that bad? I remember reading something about the body storing a certain type of fat in the thighs that helps with brain development in fetuses - basically your body will protect this until pregnancy making it pretty impossible to shift - sorry only going by memory, I will try and find the article. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't try and loose it - just giving you someting to think about as you certainly don't look overweight!

I wonder what thread i first came about in. I think it was november/december last year. Been about 6 months. Thats horrific. In 6 months ive lost 1 measly pound, stayed the same and now put a pound on. Dont think i need a missyg graph to track my progress on that one!!!

Pinklipgloss, you are like me, i have flabby thighs and big hips, but the rest of me isnt too bad!

Ohhhhh did i tell you guys ive tanned???? i got white bits :D

elqueen, i shall wave frantically everytime the cam goes in my direction, or when the ball comes my way. Hey, i might even try and catch one :p Last time i watched a cricket match kent were playing Aus. Good game it was aswell, stood only a few yards away from that old fogie who ive forgotten the name of. I wanna see dave lloyd, hes amazing!
