Hi Bat,
I just can't resist giving my thoughts on the weekend, given that I'm always overjoyed to embrace Friday at 5:00pm.:j :j
Because of our financial adventures over the last couple of years, I have now spent the longest period of time in my adult life working as a paid employee, as opposed to running our own business. I have to say, in total honesty, that I find it the most unrewarding, soul destroying way of earning a living,  and can't wait until we're in a position to get back into business again.
That does make the prospect of the weekend so very attractive, :j :j but it can be incredibly frustrating because there are always a million and one jobs to be done, that have been put off through the week, and the time we actually spend relaxing is minimal.
By the time Monday morning comes around again,  it doesn't feel as though we've actually had any quality time together.
I don't think it matters whether you work or don't work, the key to enjoying life, both the week and the weekends, :j  is to try and spend your time doing things that you find rewarding.:DOnce you get stuck in a way of life that doesn't seem to be going anywhere,  it becomes increasingly difficult to have a real "joie de vivre".
My short term plan is to sell the house;:D move into a caravan; quit work,:j :j and start up in business as a window cleaner / odd job man / garden maintenance,:cool: anything that doesn't have the bullsh1t associated with a full time job.:T :T

I don't understand it at all, the kids are fine and healthy, money is okish, Dh is rewasonable but I'm stuck in a bloody pit of despair.

Hi Bat
I hope you feel a bit better.
I can relate to the weekend thing- I used to love Fridays and loved the weekend, just doing normal stuff, watching telly (Hollyoaks omnibus), stuff like that. Now, although I like not having to go to work, I cant really say I do enjoy the weekend anymore. I feel bored, anxious and listless and a bit at a loss really.
I dont think its the money as a lot of the stuff I did before was cheap/free anyway- just doing garden, walking, reading etc. Now, I never do any of this, I just sort of drift through the day feeling bored and a bit lost.
I put it down to the massive amount of stress Ive been under for the last 6 months or so. The run up to bankruptcy was sheer Hell, and I think I got a bit consumed by it and spent all week/weekend constantly thinking and worrying about it. Now its all gone quiet, I feel a bit empty. Its almost as if I need something to worry about, and I find myself fixating on things to obsess about. Maybe I need the OR to come and threaten me with a BRO so then I can fill my life up with fretting again.0 -
mad?? mad??
not me
