Nope Bat, i have similar problems.
Can't work it out, but my guess is, i've lost the feelings that were there when i worked..e.g that Monday morning feeling, that Friday (great) feeling.
Everything seems flat and theres no break from one day to the next. You then see others with those feelings you had when you worked and feel (in a strange way) jealous.
They are all living the life i had, the life that was simple (yes, work was simple in an odd way) and have some perspective and meaning to their life.
I'm thankful that in a few weeks time i can get back to work, but i'm aware thats not the case for everyone.
I know a little background of you Bat, but is there anyway you can do anything such as volunteer? The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -

Oooh Bat, Are you OK Hun?
If it helps any Sundays are always the worst for me...think it may be that adrenaline keeps us going in the week & then when we relax at the weekend the bleak thoughts creep in again!
Lots of hugs...perhaps a cuppa might help...also remember the booze is a depressant & won`t help!

The weekend just merges with the week for me now, gone are the days of finishing work on a friday, planning several good pi**-ups and having craic.I think when the debts having piled on top of us,having gone now, there is still a worry of whats going to happen next and we dont know how to enjoy ourselves.Keep the chin up blind-as-a-bat,its bound to improve for us all!BR~22/05/08

Hey bat this is serious stuff.
For what it's worth i do work all wk and do to some extent look forward to the wked, especially this time of the year, then i don't have to listen to people at work telling me where, when ect they are going on holiday:rolleyes: .
But then it all goes peektong as i then have to worry about the food shop, got no money to go into town,no money to go out for a drink,no money for a takeaway, nothing on tele an can not afford sky, british summer time as it is, no real chance of getting out and about, petrol so expensive can not even go to seaside for the day or visit friends.
Give me money to friday and some earplugs any day. At least then i am being useful.:o

Hi Bat,
I just can't resist giving my thoughts on the weekend, given that I'm always overjoyed to embrace Friday at 5:00pm.:j :j
Because of our financial adventures over the last couple of years, I have now spent the longest period of time in my adult life working as a paid employee, as opposed to running our own business. I have to say, in total honesty, that I find it the most unrewarding, soul destroying way of earning a living,  and can't wait until we're in a position to get back into business again.
That does make the prospect of the weekend so very attractive, :j :j but it can be incredibly frustrating because there are always a million and one jobs to be done, that have been put off through the week, and the time we actually spend relaxing is minimal.
By the time Monday morning comes around again,  it doesn't feel as though we've actually had any quality time together.
I don't think it matters whether you work or don't work, the key to enjoying life, both the week and the weekends, :j  is to try and spend your time doing things that you find rewarding.:DOnce you get stuck in a way of life that doesn't seem to be going anywhere,  it becomes increasingly difficult to have a real "joie de vivre".
My short term plan is to sell the house;:D move into a caravan; quit work,:j :j and start up in business as a window cleaner / odd job man / garden maintenance,:cool: anything that doesn't have the bullsh1t associated with a full time job.:T :T

I think Sundays arec the worst sometimes. You can't do anything, something !!!!!! that needs sorting always arrives in Saturdays post. I'm crashing a lot lately for no reason other than being tired with life. The worst are nightmares, my mind is saying awful things like my child is dead and I wake up feeling like I'm having a heart attack. I don't understand it at all, the kids are fine and healthy, money is okish, Dh is rewasonable but I'm stuck in a bloody pit of despair.
I could do with a slap sometimes.:eek::eek:Barclaycard 3800
Nothing to do but hibernate till spring

At 'times' i'm more than happy to oblige you on that BH:p
Seriously, I've been through the nightmares, mostly concerning my kid too. I think its sort of 'normal'.
We spend our lives worrying and when theres not too much to worry about, then you panic.
It does sound like you might be having minor panic attacks though...maybe a mention to your doctor or some of those Kalms to help you through. The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -
Problem is everything is business as usual...you forget that sometimes "you" need a break from everything (easier said I know) its not wrong once in a while to ask for help thats what GP's etc are there for
as far as the slap goes....can I join the queue? We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -

I too find weekends difficult, or should I say I have started to find them difficult again...
From experience I would say that it is probably partly down to you not working Bat, but also as Richard has touched on if you're are working somewhere where you get no satisfaction in the future, it will invariably be a poison chalice... dying to get back to work only to realise that it wasn't what you expected... ie a crap job, no sense of teamwork or reciprocated enthusiasm, maybe you (not you personally, but you, me, anybody) are lacking the enthusiasm yourself because of the said working environment that you enter into, or things that are not right in your life, I would advise people to look at this and consider making changes for the better...
I know exactly what I need to do, and that is broadly, do things that I enjoy in work and in life, speak my mind when a situation requires it, or when people are not giving me what I need and things will fall into place... If I get a crap job, try to change that crap job, if I want to go into business, go to college... can't because of family life or finances, set goals or long term goals that will enable you to bring about the opportunity for change... feel overwhelmed by the possibilities? Take one step at a time! All a lot easier said than done I know, but the rewards are worth the effort.
Also to appreciate the little things, and be glad for simply being alive, but the ability to do this is usually blocked when I get down (which I have been-ish for a few weeks now). Do things that you enjoy... I like painting (I'm pretty bad at it though
), I haven't done any for 3 months now, but for all that time I have been thinking oh, I should have a paint, but don't, I wallow in self-pity... Old habits can be hard to break
One of the most important things is too have people in your life who love and care for you, want the best for you etc... and try not to invest your time into situations where you get no return... what's the point?
Again, all easier said than done, as I am struggling to apply some changes in my own life, or should I say to stay on my 'chosen-route' but will hopefully get back on track soon? If you can surround yourself with positive people... and aspire to better things... Absolutely no snobbery intended at all! As an example, if the sum total of friends desires are to get hammered down the pub all weekend, only to be back at the grindstone Monday morning, well that's up to them... but what a total waste of time! I'm talking from my own point of view here and I'm not judging anybody... also these realisations have taken years to sink in.
I better stop typing, and really this post has been for my own benefit as well as anybody elses. I'm not trying to be self-righteous either, just that things don't have to be crap, we all have a choice...
All the Best0
