I've just got 48 persil tablets via pinecones and £8 in luncheon vouchers so I'm a happy bunny! Thats a fair bit of washing and 8 days food (if I use the £1 a day recipes!!).0

Blimey! Am so impressed! Have been to Lidl a few times, but mainly out of curiosity rather than a true economic need.
I'm going to have to go some to hone my (non-exsistent!) house-keeping skills methinks.
Have just given up nice, secure full-time paid job to go self-employed as a letting agent, so consequently have no money coming in at all at the moment - but am still having to pay extortinate childminder.
& other half is self-employed musician, profession which is notoriously not well paid! So we're going to have to start saving, big time.
Plus WFTC are being a**es and only paying us a miniscule amount at the moment because they're going on my last year's salary, and his, (but he only moved in with me in July!), which is not what I've got now!! gggrr. >:(
Ho hum. Well, at least I've got plenty of time now to research menus and food shopping etc!0 -
Went shopping in Iceland today and found cooked tikka chicken breast fillets should be £1.99 each or 3 for£5 marked down to 99p a pack.
Picked up 3 packs and before I paid asked if they would check the price (I have been caught out before, price charged not price shown) and quess they came up as 49pence for a packet of 4 fillets
Now only one prob, went back and grabbed 12 packs any one got any good recipes for 48 tikka chicken breast fillets.
This should keep the spending down for a few weeks0 -
i use them chopped up in with mayo on a baked potato.0

Thank you to the person (sorry can't remember who) suggesting that instead of planning weekly meals THEN shopping according to the menu, we could shop according to what's on offer, and plan weekly meals with what we already have. I have started doing it, and I love it. I walk up and down every aisle (good excercise), and don't miss out on an offer. Then I use what I've already bought to plan my future meals. I love it. Thank you.0
