Currently the nil paid are out of sync with the fully paid share price, this should even out. As to whether people choose to dump the np remains to be seen, it's obviously all depends on the share price at the time the np expire. If by some chance the share price climbs between now and then, buyers may feel there is something to be gained by taking up the offer.
Nil paid shares are trading well above the gap between its price and the fully paid price. Some may think it's a good time to sell, that premium may well disappear.

So am I right in thinking that we're being asked to buy the shares at 275p each but if we tick the option to sell them we might only get 21p each ? In that case, why on earth would anyone buy them ?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Ok thanks. So (simple answer please!) if I sell my right, how much realistically will I get per share ?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Does the lack of answers suggest that there isn't a simple answer ?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

This obviously is subject to change.
I believe HBOS are offering a free dealing service, I'm not sure if this gives you the option to sell the np before the expiry date. If you decide not to take up your rights, you will get the prevailing price on expiry of the np.
The question is, do you feel HBOS will rise or fall between now and then?0 -

I wish Martin MSE could advise us if its a good idea to buy the shares we are allocated.I don't know what to do.What does eveyone else think?I'm worried that if customers don't buy their allocated shares, they will drop even furthur?Chrissy0

forget Martin, isn't obvious by now? The share price plunges by 75% and you're seriously considering giving the board even more money to waste? PleaseKrusty & Phil Madoff, 1990 - 2007:

Is he qualified to give such advice ??'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0
