I called DVLA and it seems my disc is missing through the post. They will send a new one first class. They also said I would be OK because electronic checks can be made to see I do have one so no towing or getting in trouble with the police. Thanks to everyone who helped me. I was so anxious!QUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0

I'm trying to find how you get to Vehicle Enquiry from https://www.dvla.gov.uk the main DVLA website.brownbabygirl wrote: »Left hand side, fourth tab down, click VEHICLE ENQUIRY:beer:
Where have they hidden the link in https://www.dvla.gov.uk ?0 -
Do they not?
I know that Traffic Wardens and Parking Control Officers or whatever they are called do check.
Why would they spend their time doing that when the police can just stick a camera anywhere (e.g. a motorway bridge) that automatically checks tax, insurance, MOT of every car that goes past?0 -

Because if you are not displaying a valid disc, then you can get done for that, the cameras don't do that, don't forget the intention is to screw the motorist.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
the window of 2 weeks they give you to get one is just nonsense, what if your on holiday or away with work.
obv online has helped somewhat0 -
Just to update this thread - DVLA now says:I have not received the tax disc. Can I use the vehicle without the tax disc displayed?
When you apply for a tax disc online or by using our phone service you are able to legally continue to drive your vehicle for up to 5 days after the tax disc has expired while you wait for the new tax disc to arrive. This will only apply when you have applied for a new tax disc before the current one expires. You should continue to display the expired disc on your vehicle, until the new one arrives.
