This has been taken from the website where you renew your tax discI have not received the tax disc. What should I do?
If the tax disc has not been received after 5 working days, please telephone us between 8am to 8.30pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5.30pm Saturdays on 0870 850 4444. When you make the call, please have the Reference Number available and choose option 4 then option 1.
You need to ring them, I applied for mine last Saturday when it was the bank holiday weekend and received it Wednesday morning, last year I also got it within a couple of days0 -
For some peace of mind you could check online with the DVLA to see if your tax expiry date has been updated?
If you click on vehicle enquiry and then put in the make and registration number

Use 01792 782341 instead of the rip off 0870 and ask for Vehicle Licence ApplicationsDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
I had exactly the same thing last year, in the end i phoned up and they cancelled the old one, they did offer me the chance to collect a new one from my local post office. i opted for it to be sent in the post, the new one arrived the original never did.'Beware of little expenses. Same situation happened to me, I purchased my tax disc online and it took quite a while to appear. The DVLA advised me to keep the old disc in and the receipt for the new disc in the car and if and when a police officer saw my disc was out of date they would check my car against their records and see that it was taxed.
This actually did happen and I received a phone call from the police, I advised the situation and why I didn't have the new disc displayed and they were estatic about it but understood and obviously didn't charge me or caution me. My disc arrived 2 days later.0 -
It is but how would the police know there isn't a tax disc? The police don't look in people's car windows to see if the tax disc is in date.
Do they not?
I know that Traffic Wardens and Parking Control Officers or whatever they are called do check.
But as others have said to the OP I don't see it being a problem.
They have paid - now just need to chase up the DVLA first thing in the morning0 -
