Just noticed this so from today...

    1. Make some money from ebay etc - £100 Aim
    2. Make more of an effort with my appearance (there are clothes other than jeans)
    3. Cut down on shopping budget and save another £30 there.
    4. Run at least twice a week as I think I need this for my sanity.

    Good luck to all. x

Revisiting this as I get paid on Monday so it's nearly the end of my month...

    I'm going to...
    - try to get to payday (23rd) with at least £200 left in the bank to go towards my holiday - need to check but should have about £120 left in bank, have paid for flights and hotel deposits.

    - buy anything I need for said holiday using vouchers earned from surveys - bought rucksack with Argos vouchers from Consumer Pulse, got M&S vouchers on way from iPoints which will be used for some clothes.

    - do the Moonwalk 26 mile walk (in ten days time, eek), try to raise £200 sponsorship (got about £85 at the moment I think) - yep! raised nearly £300 :j

    - apply for any jobs I see that I want to go for and not chicken out at the last minute - done, had an interview, didn't get the job but have more to apply for.

    - take lunch to work at least 4 days a week - yep!

    - not go over my grocery budget - errr £8 over.

    - keep my veg garden tidy and as free of snails as possible - apart from the sad death by drowning of some onion plants, all looking good, caught a snail in mid-egg-laying session in one of the beds last night... yick!

Actually, that's better than I thought!

I'm going to try to clear one debt by the end of the month. (£1400, £1100, £650) and try with Full and Final settlements to do that with the other two debts each month after that.

 I just thought I'd check in and see how I'm getting on cos Andan you're right - I wrote quite a big list!

    Hello my lovelies!

I completely missed the May versh of this (might go and look it up in a sec) but off the top of my head:

    1) Stick my head in the Loft and see if what I think is still up there corresponds with reality. (I believe there to be one box of Photo Albums, one box of Christmas Decs, and two Christmas Trees - but due to a Hoarding Hubby it's all too possible that there's a few other bits up there. When asked about this issue he tends to be a little vague - safe in the knowledge that my asthmatic's fear of loft insulation will prevent me from actually having a look - Bless him. But this month I'm going up there.. ) Hmmm.. yeah. Did this and found a few things I'd forgotten were there - like the big electric fan - but not really any secret stashes of junk. :)

    2) Ebay most of the contents of my wardrobe, leaving only the stuff that fits and that I actually wear, which should leave plenty of swishing things from side to side room in there. ;)I've sorted out what's going and whats' staying, but I have yet to list a single item!

    3) Get rid of the stuff that hasn't sold at 3 different carboots now. Nobody wants to do another one - not even me - so lets get shot of it all. Yeah - done. Frecycled abit and caried a lot of boxes to a lot of charity shops!

    3) Try to organise my life and brain better so that I have a guilt free day off once a week - or at least an afternoon and evening off, having got plenty done in the morning. I've struggled with this one but I have been off duty two days this week from lunch time onwards Woo!
Lately I find, If I'm not working hard to pay off our debts I feel guilty, and get fidgetty. Still working on this part!
We watched a film the other night, and I couldn't tell you a thing about it cos I spent the whole two hours thinking I should be eBaying - and I actually did check my emails and sales when hubby went to the loo! :oI'm going to try to relax and watch a film with hubby tonight.

    4) Reach my £10k Halfway mark goal in the Pay off £20k by Christmas 2008 Challenge  WooHOO - We did it! We might actually do this thing after all!

    5) Get the food shopping totals back on target by being more involved in the Grocery Challenge on MoneySaving Old Style. Not so far! It's such a mahoosive thread I can't keep up with reading it - let alone posting! :o

    6) Learn to cook something new from my Jamie Oliver cookbook or my Slimming World one. (sorry this one is a bit vague and woolly!) If necessary I'll just open a cookbook at a random page and cook that! :DUmm.. Not So far...

    7) Read some books not concerned with moneysaving, personal finance, growing our own food etc. WooHoo, I've been reading a lot of different stuff to get a break from constantly thinking "moneysaving" all the time. I think I was getting tunnel vision!

    8) Post on here a bit more regularly. I think I don't have time, but I watch at least an hour of TV most days so I could be on here instead. I'm around a little bit more than I have been for a while

    9) Have 22 NSDs The month's not over yet....

    10) Fill up my eBay shop with everything I've got to sell. (It won't sell if it's not on there right?) Getting there...

    11) Carry on not drinking (much) I've got two parties to go to but I will limit my consumption at those and not drink all of the other days. Yep. That's pretty much how it goes. I can manage alcohol free at all times - except parties! :o

    Great thread Hypno!

    Love Jacks xxx :D

    Getting there huh?

    Love Jacks xxx :D

    OK - to update...

    1. Make some money from ebay etc - £100 Aim Nowhere near but have put a few things on at last so getting back into the habit.
    2. Make more of an effort with my appearance (there are clothes other than jeans). have been doing this and feeling better for it.
    3. Cut down on shopping budget and save another £30 there. going well at the minute but probably about £20 saved.
    4. Run at least twice a week as I think I need this for my sanity. not done this yet but work has now calmed down so hopefully will start next week.

Good luck to all. x That was all sounding not too bad but added hugely to debt by buying a new car... nowt flash and it was needed. DFD back to next year but at least I can say where the money went unlike when I started here!

Just 'scribbling' down my thoughts for the next month - payday tomorrow! :j Will transfer them to the July thread once we get one!

    I want to...

    - have £400 left in the bank at the end of the month (23rd) as I go on holiday on 24th!
    - finish the BBC online beginners Italian I've been doing before I go there.
    - finish online course I've been doing with BT Adult Learning Centre and get certificate printed out for that.
    - do something every evening before I switch the PC on and stop eating my tea in front of it.. I've got into a habit of coming straight in from work, having been in front of a PC all day and just switching it on and spending all evening in front of it as well. So going to try to do something - whether it's go for a run, do a bit of knitting, read a bit of a book - and make my tea and eat it, before I switch it on.
    - do first four weeks of running training plan (aiming towards a 10k in September).
    - keep to my grocery budget.
    - get up before 8am on work days.
    - generally try to do more and be more sociable/ meet people.. not quite sure what this is going to consist of yet!
