Ford Ka- any good?

It does sound like a good deal, but it looks like the one i have, which is the basic model, it's fine for me but some people do like the little extras. The basic model doesnt have electric windows or central locking, or a proper glove box. Like i said i'm not bothered about that but you might be and if you look around a little you might be able to find one with a bit better spec. Also, not sure if its in all models but there are only 2 seatbelts in the back of mine, which means you can only have 2 people in the back. not a problem for me, but you might need more room.
they are great cars to drive, this is my second one, not had many problems and they all seem to be cheap to fix, also the rust isnt as much of a problem on the newer ones, and can be fixed. But if you are bothered about it the places to look for rust are at the bottom of the doors, by the petrol cap and by the back wiper.0 -
The Ka has 2 rear seat belts because it's only a 4 seater.
None of them have a glovebox.
The Ka was always intended to only have plastic bumpers with no paint so you could bump it in city parking and not be bothered!0 -
well my next door neighbour had one with a glovebox, so i know they do. Dint realise they were all only 4 seaters, everytime i mention it to people they think i'm crazy lol!!0

I had to look into that, because as far as I knew from introduction all they had was a small plastic cubby hole under the passenger airbag, about 6 inchs wide by 2 inchs deep
When the model was revised in 2003/4 they introduced a different shape dash which does include one.0 -

On the "early" models without a passenger airbag there was a glove box with a removable lid, those with an airbag had a pokey little box with a swing lid like a kitchen bin.
As you say, the current models now have a different fascia.0 -
Loads of known faults
Knackered steering racks.
Spark plugs rusting into the head
No need to worry though, they are great cars, and all of the above are very cheap (easy to do yourself) to fix.
Wouldn't these 2 faults be pretty expensive to fix. I agree with the ohers though. They are pretty cheap to fix.
