Ford Ka- any good?

Bought a 54 plate Ka to share with daughter who is taking lessons. Lovely little car. Always thought they were a bit too small and gimmicky before I had one. Now prefer it to the Fiesta we bought for our son!.·:*¨:starmod: ¨*:·. Rubiales.·:*¨ :starmod: ¨*:·.

Meet a Ford man:j
Had a Mondeo, got a Focus, bought a Fiesta this week.
Drove a Ka for most of the winter
My worry is the mileage, its far too low
Has the car been clocked , or a it been standing around too long.
Cars are to be used.
Short journeys kill cars,
Seems to expensive to me ( even at £2000)0 -
Second Keith's observations. My only worry is, Keith, that when those spark plugs corrode - trying to get them out, well, they have been known to snap and it can be a tad pricey to sort that out!
We always remove and clean the plugs on them even if they do not need replacing, but not all garages do that.
I think it is over priced for a Y reg. I'd look around a bit more.Genie

I agree Jeannie, I need to change the ones on mine as a precaution but it's a worry that they'll snap.
They've been in there 18 months now, aren't due for a change yet but I've bought replacements and just need the balls to risk them snapping. I will pop a bit of copper grease on them this time.0 -
Low miles on that one - as mentioned, it's not cheap either.
You'll find a nwere one, with higher miles, which might actually be better value, in real terms.
Agree the rust problems are now showing up, the spark plug issue is something that catches out a lot of looooooooooooong service interval vehicles.
Actually bought a Strret KA for a girl, to replace the KA Silver I got her (to replace the KA standard model before that!!
She likes them, few problems & ok running costs.
Look out for 'special editions' like the Silver, 'cos you get a few more toys, better spec for no more £$£$

My Mom's got one and been very happy with it. Having driven it I have to say it is a good little car. I always think it's the real replacement for the original mini. Small, cheap to buy and run and good fun to drive. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
I've just spoke to the dealer, and found out that it has had 2 owners. This put me off, as I thought it should have done at least 50k miles with 2 owners.
I've seen another Ka- could you take a butchers at it for me, please?
It's here: http://dealerservices.autotrader.co.uk/109461/stocklist.htm It's on the last page, and is the silver 03 reg at £2695.
How is that one?0 -
Certainly better on age wise & the dealer has a clear to understand site, as well as fair description of the car, as well as extra pics, so you're half way there with that lot.
Still think I'd look for a better spec model, if you can find one.

Hi BCD, the proper valuation for this car is £2435 with 50,000 miles on the clock. As this one has only 26k on the clock it seems to be a good deal.
I would still encourage you to haggle hard as there are a lot of these on the market. Good luck!!0
