Student Loan Repayments not showing on statement - help!!!

I am also in the same ridiculous situation for the 2nd year running. The hassle of getting it sorted is just incredibly time-consuming and unnecessary
The whole system is unbelievably inept ad I cannot believe they (HMRC) can get away with effectively stealing hard earned money by not "paying on time" I am convinced that if I do not chase these payments my money will stay lost in this pot HMRC must have of "unallocated" student loan repayments.
Absolute joke - sort it out Gordon
As to the msg above - just send in photocopies of your payslips with a letter, I did not send a P60 previously but still had my balance updated. If you don't make a complaint to: complaint.info@financial-ombudsman.org.uk0 -
similar thing happened to me..
company changed ownership mid-year and they only had 4 months of payments.. even tho p60 at end of year showed teh other 8 months... after 10+ calls over 4 months... and being told 'try back in a couple more months'... many many times.
I basically mailed in my payslips (photocopies) and they have shown this on my statementy now altho they need confirmation still from hmrc.. they are coming in.
Annoying...0 -
Same thing here.. noticed online that my 08-09 payments have been received by SLC but my 07-08 had not.
I asked SLC for confirmation (sending a copy of my P60s) - they sent a letter stating they are waiting for HRMC to process 07 deductions but couldn't apply the amount until they get confirmation and gave an estimate of loan left.
What can I do - can I chase HRMC in anyway?

You can, but I don't know how far you'll get with them. It's not uncommon for the HMRC to send the most up to date files to SLC and miss out the previous year's.0

Don't make phone calls, this is a formal situation. Write a letter copying the SLC your P60s and/ or payslips (which you are supposed to keep!).Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

My wife has just got her statement and the repayments are also too low. She changed jobs twice during the most recent tax year, but the Student loan repayments shown on the statement are only those made in her most recent (i.e. current) job. The P60 only shows student loan repayments in curent employemt and P45s do not include student loan repayments.
The same thing happened when she changed jobs 3 years ago and it took ages to sort out - sending in photocopies of payslips etc.
Basically it seems that the system cannot cope with people changing jobs which is quite ridiculous. I've decided the only way I can be sure these idiots are doing their jobs properly is go through all of her payslips going back 5 years and working out the interest payments manually myself!0 -
At the top of the statement does it say "Final Annual Statement" or "Interim Annual Statement"?
If it says Final then SLC are not expecting any more information from HMRC. You then need to send in the P60 and copies of payslips (where required).
If it says Interim then SLC have some information but the record is not complete. They will be receiving more information and will issue further statements once the interest has been recalculated again. This will continue till all information is received and a final statement will be sent.
Do the deductions that are showing on the statement represent one of the 3 employers she had deductions taken from. If these do then there will no need to send these payslips to SLC as it could mean that they deduct them twice and your OH being asked for the extra money back. If you do send the payslips in write a letter stating that some repayments have been received and you are including the missing ones.0 -
Yes, it does just say interim and the payments are for her most recent (i.e. current) employer. Stil somewhat disconcerting that the whole process is so amazingly inefficient and I'm still going work it out myself as I don't trust them not to mess up (have all payslips and interest rates on student loan going back to 1999, so should be possible in principle, just need a rainy Saturday!)0

I sent them my god damn p60s and wage slips...
They sent me a letter agreeing they were missing some payments (some 600 quid!)... They wrote a letter saying:
Thank you for your correspondence,
I can advise that H.M Revenue and Customs are not currently investigating any discrepancies or late receiptn of files for tax year 2007/2008 at this time.
In the interim I have manually updated your account with the deduction showing on your pay statements Septemeber 2007 to March 2008. Using this information, the amended outstanding balance on the above account is £11753.31 (NEAS: assume they rolled interest for current year as difference is some 200 quid! and interest for year was charged at 440 quid ish).
This figure does not include any deductions that may have been made through your salary from April 2008 to the present day.
Once in receipt of the amended file from H.M Revenue and Customs for tax year 2007/2008 and this applied to your account, a revised statement will be issued to you under seperate cover.
Today I get 2008/2009 financial statement taking the full amount paid for that year off the previous un-amended total (£11946.30!).... so they've just totall ignored the missing 600 quid for this year.
Im frikking furious, i've been trying to get this sorted for 9-10 months since i got 2007/2008 statement!... I could kill someone... as Im totally helpless... am trying to phone then now... but am guess they will give me the 'wait one or two month's line. Bunch of amateurs!.0 -

Same here - just got a 08/09 statement through without my 07 payments on it. I've already sent my P60 to them and also HMRC - but doesn't look like it did any good.
Anyone got the address/tel/department for Student Loan queries at HMRC or is it something that my companies HR dept should be dealing with?
