JonnyBravo wrote: »Ah yes..... so the words "I'm only posting the full article as I don't want to be accused of bias" were never typed? I know differently, you know differently and people involved know differently. Off the top of my head, people like Generali who I remember commenting on the thread.
Only problem was you choosing some bits to put in bold made your statement facile.
Well yes, as you, like some others, tend to take a very long time admitting you were wrong. It can often be a long drawn out affair. It seems you don't like being challenged and seem to think it's a big deal to say "Oh yes I see what you mean"
Ah I see.... I wondered if it was all part of your "I'm going to complain about you threat". As before..... feel free..... I've done nothing wrong. But then you know that which is why you didn't get anywhere last time..... or thought better of it.
As for not visiting old threads? How about a month ago when you went through all my old posts and worked out how many you didn't like? Remember? It was nearly a third!!!
Isn't it perspective time again? I feel you're starting to reach fever pitch in another posting frenzy?
Better placed? Not really. I can read the title perfectly well thank you.
You invite comment with the speculation about me trying to keep my BTL secret. Make up your mind eh?
This really is too easy to eh? Inconsistent arguments?
I've never directed an attack at you. You mistake my challenging points of fact with personal attacks. I know you're wound up but it really isn't personal.:p
As for the message.... as i previuosly stated I'm not uncomfortable with dropping house prices. As previously stated I agree they are falling and will continue to do so. I think I voted on some thread somewhere for a 20-30% option?
Really? It doesn't seem so! You seem to be a little over wrought again.
I have to go away with work now.... but I lookforward to coming back on Thursday to see your measured response!:D
Yawwwn.......I think all you needed to add your patronising pile of guff was a claim that it 'must be my time of the month' or something.....
I'm busy hanging around at the moment as I'm waiting for the Halifax figures to appear impatiently.
Does anyone know when they're out? Can't wait....0 -
Carlot is just a very frustrated lady as she is unable to afford her own home, hence why she spends hours trawling the internet for any arcticle that relates to a house price crash so that she can start a thread on it, and more often then not, the arcticle is pointless.
She calls herself the messenger - who brings the message - I call her annoying
I do worry for her slightly (and others on here) that this year may well be her best chance to negotiate a decent price reductionn on a house, I hope she dosen't 'miss the boat' again.......0 -
Is this enough? You just attacked me - that's why I included you - agreed, you are not (usually) abusive, although I can think of at least one post where you called me some pretty nasty names until you calmed down.
No worries mate - I don't really think of you as equivalent to pickledpink!
Hmmm ok I apologise, I can see how this could be taken as a personal attack.
It was really a genuine question as it really did seem to be the pot calling the kettle black.
I would really like you to show me calling you some pretty nasty names as it is not in my nature and I just don't believe that it is true.:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.
:wall:0 -
you're no different to pickles, pickled pink, I've Seen The Light, etc -
I don't think that's entirely fair - I've Seen the Light doesn't agree with you (or me, for that matter!) but he posts factual, researched stuff, and doesn't just go off on one like the others do.
When I see a post by him, I know it'll be worth reading, even if I don't agree with it. He's not a head-in-the-sand type....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Apology accepted and proffered for putting you in the same league as the others.
There was a post in which you called me some nasty names - do I really have to find it?
Whilst going through your back posts is infinitely more entertaining than going through Johnny Bravo's! I don't think I really have time ATM. It may have been on house prices in Scotland thread, IIRC, but can't guarantee that - if you fancy checking it for me, that would be great.
No, on the contrary, whilst our views diverge in that I find you bizarrely optimistic, in the current economic climate, no offence is ever taken and in the main, you are as courteous as people debating matters involving hundreds of thousands of pounds ever are...
EDIT: Just seen neverdespairgirl's post - agree entirely.0 -

You can call me anything you like! You'll never meet me.
Thank you very much for your kind thoughts. You know, Dan, 'missing the boat' is a risk I'm prepared to take. If I do lose out by missing the current boat, I'm prepared to live with the consequences.
Personally, to carry on your sweet metaphor, I think that ship is sailing into a sea of debt, laden with toxic goods, and is sinking at a fairly rapid pace. As I am sure I would have been one of the first to drown, I'm happy to stand on the shore and wait till it returns, rebuilt and ready to go, in a few years.....0 -
How did we get from this:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtml?xml=/money/2008/05/30/bcnmort130.xml
Mortgage payments will rise to their highest in more than a decade as a gloomy economic outlook squeezes the financial system even more tightly.
The average interest rate on a two-year fixed rate mortgage will soon rise above 7 per cent, according to moneyfacts.co.uk, a financial product comparison service.
To this:Carlot is just a very frustrated ladyYou just attacked meYour words are actually libellous.
You cannot accept when people dis-agree with you.you like to nitpick over irrelevant details
?
You're talking about bl00dy mortgages. How can you get so het up about them?0 -
Look, let's not have a return to the days when house price threads generally ended up (IMO due to deliberate interference of some people) being reduced to a personal slanging match.
It doesn't do anyone any good and it just raises the blood pressure of those feuding.--
Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -
I would suggest that those getting worked up into personal feuds investigate how the ignore function works, it will make their time on the boards much less stressful both for them, and for the rest of us.It's a health benefit ...0

I've got a poster on ignore. Saves me time and hassle. He's probably got me on ignore too!
Seriously, life's too short to get worked up over the price of fixed rate mortgages on a chat board web thingy (technical term).0
