I know you can't provide evidence, and just want to highlight to any new readers here that you're all talk. The regulars know the score. :rotfl:0 -

I've never claimed I wasn't biased.... if I had then I would be a hypocrite. Claiming that you had bias doesn't make me a hypocrite either. You need to check your definitions.
You obviously never did get over our discussion last time eh? You even had to have a "time out" it would seem from your frenzied peak of posting for a few weeks. I'm glad you found that bit of perspective. Don't lose it now.
My rental income covers my interest so I'm ok.... and you'll know that's at a discount too! Thanks for your concern anyhow.
Where was I trying to prevent rational discussion? By trying to stop yourself taking a "one size fits all" style to your advice giving? Give over. I'd say you were the one afraid of rational discussion.
Like some of the others on here you're happy so long as everyone is singing your song. Well I agree to the tune by and large but perhaps not all of the words and there are a few who don't like being challenged on that.
I accused you of bias yes.... something you came to admit in the end. I was never challenged on it as I was never silly enough to claim no bias.
Desperate? Where?
Oh I see... you mean challenging innaccuracies? Yep, you don't like that do you?
What a load of tosh.
You should consider being a politician - you'd be great at 'talking out the motion', as you like to nitpick over irrelevant details in an attempt to derail otherwise very interesting and important threads.
You did accuse me of bias - and hidden bias - on many occasions. I find it hilarious that you have turned out to be a BTL landlord; I look forward to regular progress reports on how much the value of your property has gone down a monthly basis; or more often if you prefer.
You remind me of Vicenzo, another amateur BTL who disliked being challenged in his claim to impartiality; he was of course no more impartial than any other poster (including myself).
I've always laid my cards on the table, as you well know. I'm a self proclaimed would-be FTB.
But you kept your BTL a big secret; can't think why? :rolleyes:0 -

Irrelevant details? This thread [STRIKE]is[/STRIKE] was about mortgages.
!!!!!!? claimed you wouldn't be able to pay off a mortgage by staying on 2 year deals. I disagreed. !!!!!!? now accepts that isn't the case.
!!!!!!? claimed that there was a lender who charged you to go onto their SVR after your deal period ended on a mortgage. I said I had never heard of such a charge and asked who the lender was. He claimed to provide evidence but the actual evidence he posted was actually about something entirely different. A mortgage broker seemed to back up my point of view. !!!!!!? seems to now agree his friend must have been confused. You did accuse me of bias - and hidden bias - on many occasions. Indeed I did accuse you of bias but then you were trying to avoid being labelled as biased in one particualr thread.
You edited an article to try and avoid claims of bias! I simply pointed out that by editing it you were of course bringing your own bias into it.... by deciding what was in your view important enough to highlight in bold. In the end you agreed, but it seems this simple episode has really annoyed you. The thread even ended up being deleted IIRC.
I'm well aware my properties are dropping in value. Just about every property in the country is. Feel free to mention it as often as you like. As people are only too keen to point out (myself included) gains/losses are only finally known once you do sell. I don't intend to sell any time soon so where's my problem? You remind me of Vicenzo, another amateur BTL who disliked being challenged in his claim to impartiality; he was of course no more impartial than any other poster (including myself).
I'm not impartial and don't mind admitting it. I'm just not hung up on talking prices up or down. I'm not going to be in a position to buy or sell over the next few years, so I'm really not too fussed. I have Uni educations to pay for over the next 2-8 yrs.
As for amateur BTL? Well yes I s'pose so. I only have 1 BTL.... so I'm no multi-millionaire magnate. But I've done my research. I'm not renting a flat, it's 4 bed house. It's not in an area with over supply. My discounted rental for my great tenant more than covers my interest. So I'm happy with how wll I've done as an amateur.I've always laid my cards on the table, as you well know. I'm a self proclaimed would-be FTB.
Ah a wannabe amateur purchaser then?;)But you kept your BTL a big secret; can't think why?
Secret? What... and I've "just let it slip"? Oh, perhaps it wasn't a secret. My tenant certainly knows.0 -

Rubbish, as you well know. I have NEVER pretended to be an impartial observer, far from it. I did not 'edit' an article - I don't believe I have editorial control at any major newspaper websites! The link and article was posted in full, I posted the article with some paragraphs in bold, which you spent the next several pages of the thread attempting to attack because it was the ONLY way you could draw attention away from what was actually in the article. No idea if it was deleted - not by my actions; I don't tend to revisit old threads as I have enough to do keeping on top of interesting new ones!
Again, as the person who started this thread, I think I might be better placed than you to decide what the subject of this thread is/was. It is/was about mortgage interest rates going up to rates not seen for 10 years. Your only comment relevant to the subject matter was a typically smug 'I'll be alright Jack, because I'm so clever' comment.
No, I feel better TBH now the real reason for your random attacks on me, !!!!!! etc has been established; you're no different to pickles, pickled pink, I've Seen The Light, etc - you attack the messengers who bring the message, because there's !!!!!! all you can do to change the fact that house prices are crashing.

Ah yes..... so the words "I'm only posting the full article as I don't want to be accused of bias" were never typed? I know differently, you know differently and people involved know differently. Off the top of my head, people like Generali who I remember commenting on the thread.
Only problem was you choosing some bits to put in bold made your statement facile.which you spent the next several pages of the thread attempting to attack because it was the ONLY way you could draw attention away from what was actually in the article.
Well yes, as you, like some others, tend to take a very long time admitting you were wrong. It can often be a long drawn out affair. It seems you don't like being challenged and seem to think it's a big deal to say "Oh yes I see what you mean"No idea if it was deleted - not by my actions; I don't tend to revisit old threads as I have enough to do keeping on top of interesting new ones!
Ah I see.... I wondered if it was all part of your "I'm going to complain about you threat". As before..... feel free..... I've done nothing wrong. But then you know that which is why you didn't get anywhere last time..... or thought better of it.
As for not visiting old threads? How about a month ago when you went through all my old posts and worked out how many you didn't like? Remember? It was nearly a third!!!
Isn't it perspective time again? I feel you're starting to reach fever pitch in another posting frenzy?Again, as the person who started this thread, I think I might be better placed than you to decide what the subject of this thread is/was. It is/was about mortgage interest rates going up to rates not seen for 10 years.
Better placed? Not really. I can read the title perfectly well thank you.Your only comment relevant to the subject matter was a typically smug 'I'll be alright Jack, because I'm so clever' comment.
You invite comment with the speculation about me trying to keep my BTL secret. Make up your mind eh?
This really is too easy to eh? Inconsistent arguments? :rolleyes:No, I feel better TBH now the real reason for your random attacks on me, !!!!!! etc has been established; you're no different to pickles, pickled pink, I've Seen The Light, etc - you attack the messengers who bring the message, because there's !!!!!! all you can do to change the fact that house prices are crashing.
I've never directed an attack at you. You mistake my challenging points of fact with personal attacks. I know you're wound up but it really isn't personal.:p
As for the message.... as i previuosly stated I'm not uncomfortable with dropping house prices. As previously stated I agree they are falling and will continue to do so. I think I voted on some thread somewhere for a 20-30% option?Like water off a duck's back....
Really? It doesn't seem so! You seem to be a little over wrought again.
I have to go away with work now.... but I lookforward to coming back on Thursday to see your measured response!:D0 -

I challange you to show where I have attaked other posters.
Your words are actually libellous.
You cannot accept when people dis-agree with you. Unfortunately that is what happens in discussions and debates. You need to learn how to handle being in a debate instead of flaming people
Should I post the post I had of you attacking me which I discussed with you privately to sort out rather than in a forum board?
P.S. Calm down:wall:

Is this enough? You just attacked me - that's why I included you - agreed, you are not (usually) abusive, although I can think of at least one post where you called me some pretty nasty names until you calmed down.
No worries mate - I don't really think of you as equivalent to pickledpink!0
