What do you pay?

Hi,

I have been sat here having a nose at houses for sale today. I then thought that i'd be really interested to find out what other people are paying for their mortgages these days and what houses they live in. Hope you don't mind me asking...I just find it interesting to compare.....

I have a mortgage for 154k and pay £756pm at the moment  Think my house is worth 185k at the mo. It's a 2 bed semi detatched bungalow.

Very depressing as id love to move to a bigger house but its really not a possiblilty at the mo!

    I don't have a mortgage.
    I rent a studio flatlet/bedsit.
    £350

If I bought it (one for sale at the moment), the mortgage would be £500/month (£65k, 10% deposit, 6.3% repayment over 15 years due to my age). £388 over a 25 year mortgage.

My mortgage is currently £136,000 on a house valued at £155,000. I pay £630 a month interest plus £220 a month capital (tracker rate, 30-yr term). I also pay maximum allowance into a cash ISA to eventually off-set against the mortgage.

I live in a three-storey Edwardian townhouse with 3-5 bedrooms, original sash bay windows and views across the City, situated on a quiet cul-de-sac with great neighbours, 300 yards from decent bars and restaurants. I lived there alone for 6 months, but recently recruited two lodgers who pay me a total £620 pcm rent.

I have a roof over my head and it costs me £220 in interest every month. I also repay capital each month, which should give me a free roof over my head in 8 years time.
  • I have just bought a house, and have mortgage for £103,500 over 30 years. The monthly payments are £628 @ 6% fixed for 3 years. I'm 24 and the house is worth approx £120,000.
