Loads of new properties just come on the market

We've seen a lot 'new in the last 24 hours' that, according to propertybee, are simply old ones being re-classed as new with no change. The whole inventory from two agents was 'new' today in Devon, some of which has been on over a year.0

You need to be locked up by the "moocher" police..
* "moocher" defined- someone who walks on to a used car pitch with no intention of buying a motor.0 -

Not from you, certainly.
There are loads of people on here with differing views to mine. Not everyone's experiences are relevant to me either, but I read them anyway and try to help and comment where I can.
That's what this site is for.
Unlike you I have never felt the need to make sarcastic, uneducated and irrelevant comments every time there is something that I don't like or agree with.
I've managed to make it this far as a member without adding anyone to the ignore list as I am a firm believer in free speech. You're the first and you won't be missed.0 -
I am not really noticing, i tend to take note of how long something's been on the market, as they've all been on for ages. What i do notice however is the number of estate agents with articles or pieces in the paper about how the media is scaremongering about house prices. I've been told by 2, and has seen four articles in the paper. One just yesterday. Our local paper a few months back had an article about how our town's house prices were on the rise, surely a rather large act of desperation. Certainly a figment of the ea's imagineation. Just goes to show what tosh you can print when you're a paper's biggest revenue earner in terms of advertising. I'm not sure who they're trying to convince us or themselves. They clearly weren't bothered by this when prices were going up. Also noticed one longstanding ea in our town had shut.0

Has anyone else noticed this?
In my area, just within the last few days, but especially today, rightmove have just sent me a load of new, not-been-on-the-market-the-last-few-months-gathering-dust, properties. And in virtually all cases, the prices are undercutting those same rather long-in-the-tooth properties by between 10 and 60 grand, for virtually identical properties.
Could it finally be that news of the impending crash has finally filtered through to those whose heads had been stuck firmly in the sand, and so they are trying to get 'ahead of the curve' before prices fall any further?
Or is it just in my area?
Should add - my local rightmove listing now goes onto 2 pages (that's just for this 24 hours).
No increase in instructions in the rightmove e-mails today, carol, but I would expect it to take at least a week if people are responding to the Nationwide figures.
An increase in reductions today, certainly, in some areas, but still only by nominal amounts in many cases, though there are some 10-15% cuts. Mostly they are by £5000 or £10000 as if the owners feel they should do something, but don't really believe that they have to.0 -
Happy if it's just my area!
The 2 roads I'm particularly looking at now have 3 houses on 1 and 2 on the other for sale - 2 of the 5 came on within the last 2 days. One of them is on at 285K - the other 2 in the street, which have been on for longer but are otherwise identical, are (still) both on at 325K.
So I make that a 40K drop by the new seller, compared to the other 2 put up for sale a few months ago.
Suits me fine.
Not that I'd dream of buying at those prices; just window shopping till they've fallen a LOT further.0
