Did you both open these today or are you refering to existing Regular savers?

Thanks - I (we) opened two new accounts today. We have no existing Regular Saver Accounts but have more than £10k in the Halifax Websaver withOUT card.

It still seems to not to want to adjust the payment amount or dates when you try to modify the standing order.

So that means it would be 12% for both of us?

Where you feed the money from is largely irrelevant. You get 12% if you have at least £5000 to invest in your nominated account - this is the account that your savings get swept into on the anniversary date.

Does this mean I must call them or visit a branch to receive the 12%?

As post #104 .... you can vary between £25 to £500 each month. No consistent values required ... so long as each monthly payment fits that criteria. If it (likely) follows the 7% model ... must be a payment each month and before the 28th?

Can someone please just confirm to me... Am I allowed to make a SO payment of £500 on, say, 20th of this month and then another payment of £500 on 20th of July (and so on each month). Or is it only ONE payment allowed before 20th July then once a month after that?
  • I don't want to apply too early though, as I like to fund towards end of month then switch to start of month to maximise interest.

    Is that allowed?

    First funding 28th June £500.
Then second funding 1st of July add £500.
And the first of every month after that?

    Interesting idea though. :)

Eh? As interest is calculated on a daily basis how does that maximise anything?
  • I applied for one of these accounts online earlier today, I've got an ISA with natwest and I don't think I can deposit the maximum £500 into this account as well as filling my ISA this year. Would I be right in thinking that it'd be more important to try and get as much into this account as possible early doors, as they will have more months to build interest, and I should concentrate on filling my ISA later in the year?

10%....of course fund this account first.
But make sure save enough £3600 before next April with your ISA.

    Hi.

Can someone who has opened this online let me know if it is available to fund pretty much immediately, or whether I'll have to wait a week for the paper work etc to come through?

I am already an existing HFAX customer (current account/c.card) so have online access. I don't want to apply too early though, as I like to fund towards end of month then switch to start of month to maximise interest.

When do you think, if applying online, would be a sensible date to submit the application? If it processes and opens immediately, I'd guess around about 24th. If not, I'll allow an extra week and go for 16th or so (next Monday).

    Any thoughts? Thanks.
    SC. :)

I applied one online this morning. And arranged a payment from my websaver scheduled at tomorrow.

    Hi,

I've already called up to open my two accounts and was told that I could feed my regular saver from any bank account, even non Halifax accounts. So is it now possible to deposit £5000 into the qualifying Halifax account, start the (fixed rate) regular saver at 12% and then withdraw £4999?
