this might sound like a ridiculous excuse for not growing anything on my window sills but I don't have windows in my flat!!!

I have double doors that go to the outside then in the other rooms i have a round peephole type window and a velux!!! ha ha, i just realised that i don't have any windowsills!

If you have a houseplant or two then you can grow herbs and vegetables in there place.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)

I have found that recently most shops have put up there costs on most items, The thing I do is buy the "Buy one get one free" items that way you can save the nest week having not to buy that item and hopefully another buyonegetonefree item will be on offer to do the same, try it you do saving afew ££££

If we became more self sufficent and grown some/all of our veg, baked our own bread etc the cost of living would be alot less and the satisfaction of "growing your own" would be priceless, but people seem to have lost touch with this for the sake of convienience food.

In all fairness if you're out at work all day & even perhaps have a long commute, then all that self sufficeny is nice but not very practical.

Yeah - it almost doubles when my OH does the shopping (on his own) too!!

If my DH did it, it would half:rolleyes:

It would all be value, because he would just look at the price tag

Then he would get it home, moan about it & not eat it:rolleyes:

He HATES spending money, but hes quick enough to scoff it when its bought:D

  • I live in Manchester City centre so find it hard to go to cheaper supermarkets so have to go to Sainsburies- the prices are ridiculous and I'm spending well over £50 just on myself. Do any cheaper supermarkets deliver to your house like Aldi? x

    Asda delivers.

Iceland do a home delivery service but you have to shop in a store first and spend minimum of £25
