You don't seem to get it do you. Price inflation only benefits buy to let people (publicly known as greedy scum) and people wanting to downsize. For the vast majority it hinders our getting on the ladder and climbing up.
Who the hell do you think you are saying i don't get it ? Image freak. YOU DON'T GET IT DO YOU...THERE IS NO LADDER...0 -

Ill get a bottle of this0 -
Are you not worried that your friends and family might not get a bit fed up of your furniture being in the way and you might outstay your welcome if you don't pay your way? I put up a friend and her child temporarily but after 5 months it all got a bit strained. However when she got a place of her own all the tension between us went away.
If it starts to go that way I'll move. Thanks for the heads up.0 -
Spot on there Z - I'm looking forward to sitting back and watching the pain unfold for the greedy
really sick of the word greedy being used on here for anyone that owns a property, you all want a crash so you can buy houses you can't currently afford because YOU are greedy, and YOUR GREED (should the prices fall enough for you) will push the prices back up again. !0 -
who are these greedy people that have hurt you so bad? others desperate to get on the ladder and overpaid.

I don't particularly want a crash as that would hurt those who were foolish and were sucked in by the 'buy buy buy' propaganda and the easy credit mentality. And despite their overinflating prices t's not really their fault as they've most likely been brought up to believe that this is a normal and logical way to live. Instant gratification was pushed as a positive thing and those who were "desperate to get on the ladder and overpaid" were indulging that instinct. And sadly, they will probably reap the rewards of that mentality - I only hope it isn't too bad for them.
That said, there's nothing wrong with wanting prices to come down to a more reasonable level. I don't care about 'getting on the ladder' or using property to try to make money. I want to buy a home. But I'm not going to buy in to silly ideas about how much I should pay. If I wasn't realistic about what I want out of life I'd have bought a small flat a few years ago and likely would have been struggling now. I'm glad I I have the self-discipline to delay gratification and wait until something I really value comes along - and presumably so do most of the other FTPs on this thread.0 -

Agreed. People need to stop calling it the housing "ladder" as it is misleading.
Everyone should refer to it as the housing PYRAMID.
We need to make a concerted effort to correct people whenever they use the term "housing Ladder".Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0
