Sounds like me all right, except I never had any credit card debt0

QUOTE:"When the time is right, and others are struggling they can jump in there (the pounce bit - did you see where it was going?!
) and pick up those bargains they could only dream about at present...."
How come its a bargain if your paying what it's then supposedly worth? ;-)0 -
I'm a Pouncer.
I wavered slightly this week when I saw a beautiful house in a great location but fortunately (!) I couldn't quite afford the asking price. So I'm happily waiting, sorting out my credit score and stashing lots of spondoolicks for a deposit.
Don't look, keep your head down and save like you have never saved before. Remember as a Pouncer every pound you save about £4-5 in price drops. Stay alert before:

Oooh, me!
I'm soooo glad I stumbled across the HPC website a year back. It could've potentially been quite messy if I hadn't. I was aware prices were silly, but I didn't know anywhere near so much about the unsustainability of the bubble as I do now.
Do the fox references mean that we're all officially the foxy FTPs?0 -
I'm a foxy FTP to be well.
Where is PasturesNew? She certainly belongs in this thread of foxy pouncers!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I think the term what you are all looking for is first time ""PONCES"

Has anyone spotted the bitter and twisted vested interest Landlord on this thread yet? :rotfl::exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

So when is everybody thinking the best time will be? I'm moving out of my parents house in August - anybody think I should rent until the punce move is required(!) or put in a really low offer in august for a house?0 -

August wont be pouncing. It'll be "becoming a sucker". You'll be giving up your savings so some scumbag BTLer can bail out of the market with a profit in his pocket. That's assuming you meant THIS August.
You really need to be waiting several years. Wait until the housebuilders stocks start to recover... should be around 2012 at the earliest.morg_monster wrote: »but, if there are lots of us, once we all do pounce, will we be responsible for kick starting the housing market back into (price rising) gear again?!
Reminds me of a quote from the stunning movie "We were soldiers"...
Lt. Colonel Hal Moore: I think you oughta get yourself an M-16.
Sergeant Major Basil Plumley: Sir, if the time comes I need one, there'll be plenty lying on the ground.
Film is a true story BTW and is, IMHO one of the best films ever made, but must be watched with Surround Sound..Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0
