I'm looking forward to it very much, Mw!
I like people-watching, too. Have a great time, whatever happens!Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930 -
Hi All!
25cm of snow here today - looks like it's all the way down to the coast.
I must admit the mountains look beautiful but there is no way I'm venturing outside!
My husband of course has gone off exploring in true David Attenborough style!
We last had a big snowfall at this altitude the first winter we were here - it was in February 2005. We usually get snow in the village, but usually it's gone in a couple of hours. The mountains behind us, of course, being the second highest in Europe , have snow on them right up until early summer.
I'll enjoy it while it's here and hope my flat roof covered in local grey clay (launa) doesn't leak!(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Wow SDW - that is a lot of snow. Bookies in the UK have slashed the odds on a white Christmas. Its just raining and misty mixed here today. Quite dark actually. Snow is threatened in the North for Monday or Tuesday. Glad I am going the other way. Get your prayer mat out and pray I get some sun - I am desperate.
Heard something amazing today from an old friend. In 1969 she and I stayed in a tiny place on the seafront in Benidorm, Kasa Kayani, it was no more than a cafe with two outside annex rooms which they rented out. My friend has just returned from the area and unbelievably Kasa Kayani is till there. I would have thought the real estate value would have long gobbled up the place, but its still there. It must look very strange among all those skyscrapers.member # 12 of Skaters Club

Yes, sounds good, s-d-w.
I went to a Christmas market this morning, and this is what I could see on the way:Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930 -
Oh droopsnout, that is so beautiful,
I wish I could post some pictures but my dial-up won't allow it and I don't know how to do it anyway.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Thanks. Would have been nicer if the sun had been shining!Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930

7-DW - 10" Wow, or did you mean 1"? To post pictures, you need to open a Photobox or other such photo storage site, account, it's free, then even on dial up you can send a picture to it and give a link. How to post one actually into here has escaped me yet (haven't really tried tbh). I downloaded a trial of a piece of software which if a download/upload stops it saves it and then carries on, and I used that with my carp Spanish connection, I also bought Onspeed and it does help.
Beautiful scenary droopsnout, but then again I have to admit that France has much beautiful scenary.
It's been white over most of the day here today, but with frost.

Hi donny-gal, yes I did mean ten inches, probably more like a foot but then the sun came out and much of it hasmelted now in the village although it is still thick on the mountains.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Oh Droopsnout - that photo is lovely. Thanks for sharing it with us.
7DW - thought I was the only dunce when it comes to loading photos. I have had my computer 18months and still not opened the instruction books. Spend most of my time playing with my email. I have friends scattered all over the world and it is just sublime to chat to everyone every week. Trouble is they send me photos and I cant manage it and they keep screaming at me to get cracking. Its like texting on my mobile - can't do that either.member # 12 of Skaters Club
