Thanks everyone for your good wishes. Would you believe I looked up todays weather in Tenerife and it was raining and 15 degrees C - come on what is going on? I need sun, and plenty of it.
My Mum celebrated her 96th birthday yesterday. Bless her she thought she was 103.
Glad you made it home o.k. DG - I was thinking of you in the snow on the way home.
More soon about Tenerife. I too have never been. I only chose it because of the winter sun. Guess some warm clothes will need to go in too. Back on the 16th to report.member # 12 of Skaters Club

Spoke on messenger to some friends back in Spain who said, while it was only 16 degrees with them today, they had loads of blue skies an sun. If you get in a sheltered sunny spot will probably feel nearer the 20's. As one you said recently, this year has not been a good one for weather anywhere.
If you see an internet cafe MW, you can always make us jealous while you are there.
This is a more optimistic picture

Thanks for cheering me up folks - I'm in Hotel Aguamarina, Golf del sur which is a few miles south of Los Christianos, sandwiched between two golf courses. Official name San Miguel de Abona. Not one for the neon lights and perma noise, but its nice to visit and leave them. I'm with Saga so we get lots of tours round the island and into the main towns. Unfortunately I am not very good at long walks now - osteo-arthritis in the spine (the end result of a car accident when I was younger.
I have never been to an all inclusive Hotel before, OH and I always favoured self catering and eating out. I assume other Saga guests have a little self constraint which I hear is lacking in other nationalities and younger Brits when everything is "free". Read a review on trip advisor from a Brit about Germans in Majorca - sounded horrendous. Proof will be in the pudding.
OK DG - I think the Hotel has a internet facility so I will see what I can do. I hope the temperatures go up a little, I was expecting 23 degrees plus. We'll see.
Thanks monkeyspanner - I am down coast a couple of miles - my but that beach looks lovely. The beach by our Hotel is a black one apparently. I read that the costs-adeje is the best on the island. Will check it out. Hey Ho - roll on.member # 12 of Skaters Club

Unfortunately my experience is the older end can be as bad or worse!

There is a little fishing village a short way north east up the coast from where you are staying with some good fish resturants, can't remember the name. Also a bit further on is an unspoilt(or it was a couple of years ago) natural white-ish sand beach next to a large red rock outcrop and then you get to El Medano which has a small amount of tourism but is mainly local residents.
Have a great time.0 -

Yes I have earmarked Los Abrigos (fishing village) for a visit. Local bus goes there. Thanks monkeyspanner for the tips - will check them out. I adore fish and shellfish which was why I originally planned on Galicia for the festival, but that fell thru. Guess we could all start up an holiday advice bureau - you ask - we supply - fun eh? I could make Holland as my specialist subject.member # 12 of Skaters Club

Oh Donny-Gal are you serious? Mind you, I find those type of people worthy of studying - lifts the boredom I guess. I am never in a hurry so it could be quite amusing to see others make an !!! out of themselves. Experienced it many years ago in an Hotel in Majorca, (and they were Dutch) disgustingly the food was piled high on their plates and they only ate a third of it. What is it with those people. I will treat you all to a blow by blow when I get back.member # 12 of Skaters Club
