And we're in SW France, about half an hour's drive SE of Agen.

I can see posters here getting together one year for a "do"!

We can't go on meeting like this!!!

First it was Brittany, now it's Gascony!!!

I stayed in Agen (years ago) when going to a motor race at Nogaro. Do they still have the Armagnac circuit there?

Do you mean the Paul Armagnac race track circuit? Yes! http://www.circuit-nogaro.com/

(I'm sure that's what you do mean, but you could be referring to an Armagnac route, tasting the wonderful brandies!!)

I live on the other side of the Gers, though - actually, just inside the Tarn-et-Garonne.

Work a bit as a volunteer at the tourist office in Saint-Clar. Let me know if you need any info!

Yes, I know Bénodet and some of the places round about, though I haven't been to Brittany for about 20 years or so, I suppose. Ought to go back, because I used to love all of coastal Brittany. Even had our honeymoon there.

Prefer it down here, although we're a couple of hours from the sea.

    Small world, though, eh?

    Hi
Seems we are growing a little, we have a place just outside Torreveija on the Oriheula Costa, which we spend our time between there and home, apart from when we are on holiday in our touring caravan.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?

Yes, although prices haven't moved much since we bought 5 years ago, the euro has and even at the same price would be difficult. It is a buyers market at the moment, but the Dutch and Scandinavians who seem to be having a boom atm are buying, which we are pleased to see as it makes for diversity. We will be driving out there again, thorugh France, for a couple of months late May/early June, looking forward to spending some time with long light nights and warm weather (without it being August temperatures) for the first time since we finished last June.

Some people ask if we get bored of going to the same place, but not, I do not know "Favours" but there are many bars where entertainment is laid on, prices reasonable, and a friendly atmosphere, I think because people are away from their families they are more open and welcoming of everyone. DG

I'm afraid we subsequently switched our interest to Spain. We have a place about an hour south of Torrevieja and are actually off there for a couple of weeks tomorrow.
  • We stayed in Alicante Torrevieja for twelve weeks last summer, unfortunately we weren't in a position to relocate permanently and rented from an English lady, she was and is fantastic we had a long let and will be using her again..:o

As all her properties are excellent location/amenities, she also does a transfer service and we have used her many a time.:j

I hope in the future to move to Spain permanently and she is a great contact to have for renting from until we can buy...

Her rents are from 450 Euros per month on long lets..hope this helps someone who might not be ready to totally sell up in Uk.

I'll be over again this year but only five weeks awww... Viva Espania..:rotfl:
