    Hi Everyone!

I'm still here too, lurking in the background, :p when we're not too busy sorting out everything for our move over to Spain at beginning of January. All being well we should arrive the same time as you Gallygirl (6 Jan).

Just hoping that this bad weather will have subsided by the time we start our drive over on the 3rd, so please keep your fingers (& toes) crossed for us!

    Keep safe & warm everyone.

    Elly May :)

Not me I'm afraid, I'm not out till Easter :easter:. Am trying to be very brave :(

Hope you get the internet sorted out sdw - I'll be looking to you all for tips when my time finally comes to move!

Yes, sorry. Thought the thread had died, to be honest. No point playing to an empty house!

's'ok, it's the left arm, and the hand still functions, just not allowed very far from my body! but it's a good job I am practically teetotal because drink doesn't mix with the drugs. however poor DH can't drink either, because he has to drive.

I have another 3 weeks at least of the arm-tied-to-body sling, then I see the shoulder expert again.

and it's technically no longer broken, because what I actually did was smash the ball of the shoulder joint, at the top of my humerus, into so many teeny bits that he had to do a half shoulder replacement! so I have a bionic half shoulder.

I was eyeing up shoulder of lamb the other day but didn't fancy it, used to be a fave ...

oh, and physio starts Wednesday: I anticipate pain!

Just to ease your pain a little....I broke a tendon in my middle finger left hand.. as if it makes much difference:mad:just 8 weeks ago now and splint been off two weeks and if you look up mallet finger its quite horrid..just wondering as it hangs down so much whether to go back to check it out...Doctors I guess for a starters?

Then back to Spain...we sold up in San Juan de Alciante 4 years ago..had the place since 1986....miss it loads...love it here...but miss that Yellow Bun amongst many things.

Look forward to watching BBC1 on the 30th...well done you for helping out down there in Littlehampton....Dianne

me too, will have to show DH! have been very good, MIL brought us a large tin of Roses 'for Christmas' and a large tin of Quality Street 'for convalesence': I gave the latter away as couldn't face them, esp as I've lost a stone without trying! just regular meals at regular times and v. few nibbles in between.

I'm not looking up anything, thanks! this and swapping horror stories with my friend who had a vv nasty wrist break at the end of last year and STILL isn't 'right' is enough for me! but yes, unless you have follow up with hospital go back to GP.

we saw finger splints in the ortho dept: some seemed unfeasibly large but we couldn't see what other body part they would fit, apart from one which I believe doesn't have bones. :D

apologies for not being on topic. I doubt if I'll ever want to live abroad but I do enjoy the vicarious experience!

btw, MIL reports 4" snow in an hour - in SE LONDON!:eek::eek:

Oops! I got my 'gals' mixed up there, sorry meant donnygal!

Well, I'm certainly not venturing out today, far too icy and dangerous under foot. I broke my leg really badly last January (not from the ice but from slipping down the stairs) so am extremely nervous about going out when it's so treacherous.

I hope you're not feeling too bad with your shoulder Sue, I know just how painful it can be. I had six weeks of physio after my leg op (I have a titanium rod in there now) and it certainly helped. It's amazing how your body heals itself. The last xray I had in October showed both my tibula and fibula (I broke both) healing really well. Pineapple has some amazing healing qualities in it's enzyme bromelain. A natural anti-inflammatory I think, so if you can include that in your diet, I certainly believe anything like that can help. Good luck.

Anyway, with us being pretty busy sorting out everything for our move over in the next couple of weeks, I think I'll take the opportunity now to wish everyone a very Happy & Peaceful Christmas
    :xmastree: Enjoy!

    Best wishes to all.

This is my husband's latest article in Moor Times, an online newspaper for expats in Las Alpujarras....Fire Fire and Return of El NIno (listed at the side of the page) are about our village.

If you have any views on any of the articles, there is a comments box at the bottom of the page. :)
