Yes, welcome. It's always good to have new voices here. But do tell us a little more about where you are, if you feel able to share.

:wave:Hello neighbours , we're near Mojacar (but only for hols at the mo :(). Bham & E Mids are best for us but either don't go to Almeria or way too dear. I don't mind going from Stansted, it's coming back to there that's the issue - an hour after landing at Bham we can be home, although 60 miles away, an hour after landing at Stansted we're still in the car park  - and that's despite only having hand luggage.

So, down the toll road we'll go - but I liked going to Almeria as we flew over my apartment & I could say hello to it :o

    Hi Nanda

Cannot offer any advice on the mortgage, but how about approaching your current mortgage provider for a 6 months mortgage holiday, which would give you the rent?

Maybe talk to HSBC or Barclays who are international bankers to see if they can offer any advise about accesssing your Indian funds.

Nanda, I sympathise with you. I don't know the answers to your questions, but if I come across anything useful I will let you know here.

By the way, I am not on the electoral role but have no difficulties with banking in the UK using my existing accounts. They don't include a mortgage, though.

Have you consulted a solicitor experienced in this kind of area? I realise that that could compound the difficulty by swallowing up more of your ready cash, though.
