My feeling is that if a room doesn't get TOO cold, it's a lot easier to get it up to a comfortable temperature when needed.

I used to work from a garden shed, and then from a caravan, and we had a greenhouse heater running most of the time to stop it freezing up completely. then I ran a fan heater intermittently when I was actually in there.

I have no idea what that cost to run, but the alternative was working in gloves and coat.

For all you folks up mountains, on beaches or in the boonies - its ruddy snowing again and will continue the whole week. Started off to visit my mum this afternoon and got caught in a blizzard, so turned round and high tailed it home....sigh. The good news is that is isn't settling - yet!!!

  • The UK certainly has had it's fair share of snow this winter. And we're flying back to it for a holiday! Thats the trouble with these cheap flights they're too tempting.

Where are you in Murcia HiS? We're flying in there from now on instead of Almeria as I'm sick of crappy Stansted 11pm flights.

  • We're in Camposol, Mazarron. We haven't used Almeria airport, normally we try to get flights from San Javier to Bournemouth (our favourites), and Bournemouth is closest to our family in the UK. We have tried Birmingham, Bristol, Gatwick and of course the dreaded Stansted.

:wave:Hello neighbours , we're near Mojacar (but only for hols at the mo :(). Bham & E Mids are best for us but either don't go to Almeria or way too dear. I don't mind going from Stansted, it's coming back to there that's the issue - an hour after landing at Bham we can be home, although 60 miles away, an hour after landing at Stansted we're still in the car park  - and that's despite only having hand luggage.

So, down the toll road we'll go - but I liked going to Almeria as we flew over my apartment & I could say hello to it :o

  • I also live abroad because of the same reasons apart from the weather. The only hitch comes when you get ill like I did at Xmas then your money just dwindles away here but hospital treatment is free in UK its swings and rounderbouts as i'm learning

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
