:T Well done that man, you are always so right.

Decided to clean my ponds and waterfall this afternoon and I have upset the frog and frogspawn population - they are dashing around all over the place looking for a new place to hide. He He...:rotfl:

Got meself enough watercress for a nice side salad tonight. It grows like crazy all down the waterfall.

Time for a cup of tea and a sit in the sun - who knows when we'll get more.

The French court has ordered the fisherman to stand down from their blockades.

We'll have to see now if they comply.

Representatives of the fishermen are meeting the men from the ministry in Paris tonight. (I hope that the French equivalents of Richard Murdoch and Deryck Guyler aren't there, or poor d-g will be in Verdun for ever!!)*

By the way, it seems that the dispute involves fishermen from the Côte d'Opale only (the northern coast from Boulogne to Dunkerque, roughly).

    * Hmm. Showing my age there!

Transeuropa Ferries are operating between Ostende and Ramsgate, but are busy, apparently.

The website is here. Four sailings a day.

Phone number is 00441843595522 (or 003259340260).

P&O have cleared their backlog overnight and they expect sailings to Calais to be normal today. They say the picture is less clear for Boulogne, and think that the fishermen who were blockading Calais may be moving to Boulogne.

Ferry services by SeaFrance and Norfolk Line have also resumed.

Phone-in on Five Live this morning at 09.00 UK time: "Should we be more like the French?"

I'm working at the OT this morning, so will miss it, but hope to catch up on Listen Again later.

Monday's BBC Five Live Breakfast Programme came partly from Lourdes, and the three-hour programme was followed by a one-hour phone-in about Lourdes and all its ramifications.

I have on my lappy an edited version of the Breakfast programme (I've edited out anything non-Lourdes), and a full recording of the phone-in. If anyone would like to listen to them, I will try to make the recordings available, though the files are far too big to email.

Returning to the ferry problem, here is an interesting article about P&O's consideration of a move to serving Ostende.
