How Much Do You Pay For A Haircut?

Whoops I lied, it's £13 now they've put their prices up, not £12.50 anymore! lol It's http://www.hairbyfairy.com in Covent Garden (make up junkies should stop off at Charles Fox whilst they're in the area too to get some well priced professional make up). I've only ever had my hair cut by them, never had a colour so I don't know how much they charge for that.
Thanks for the tip. I've been spending around £35 every 3months and that was with a good neighbour discount because my office was around the corner. I've moved jobs now and there are only chain salons near my office and also at home. They all charge around the same for cut and blowdry and more depending on stylist etc.
I'm particular about my hair but I don't have anything amazing done to it and I colour it myself. So I think I will give this place a try!0 -
I used to pay about £40-£50 for a wash, cut, blow and straighten. I get my hair done from a salon in Hazel Grove (stockport) although last time i had a trainee cut my hair (she did a very good job!) and i paid £25 as she had not qualified yet.
For Hazel grove i would say thats a very good price as the salons use great products and have well trained hairdressers!
Although when she does qualify...then i will go back to paying £40-£50.
Just for your information, my mum works at a college and they are ALWAYS looking for people to come and get their hair done, they charge about £8 for a wash cute and blow i would say try that, although they are college students they will always have a teacher/mentor there so nothing would go wrong! My mum gets her hair cut at the college and it looks FAB!0 -
I have a mobile hairdresser who charges me £40 for a full head of foils (2 different colours) wash and blowdry.
I couldn't imagine having to spend near on £100 on my hair, I simply wouldn't be able to afford it.
Used to dye my own hair but stopped when I once accidentally turned my hair blue, don't ask! LOL :rotfl:Caroline

I spend £6 for my haircut from a hairdresser which is only a 5 minute walk from where I live.
Tried to save more by getting my mrs to cut my hair with the trimmer I got from Aldi a few years back and she managed to cut the back of the hair way to high and all wonky..Doh!..shes never going anywhere near my hair again. Seems there is a skill to cutting hair.I hate migraines.0 -
£39 for a cut and blow dry at my local hairdressers.... in my opinion that's rather steep but looking at some of this thread it looks pretty cheap now :rotfl:
i'm growing mine so luckily i don't have to pay out for haircuts at the moment. i'm just doing my best to keep it in good condition. the last time i went i was charged £20 to have a dry trim of the ends and he cut off waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. he only stopped because he noticed me grimacing and gripping the arms of the chairs with white knuckles! i was NOT a happy bunny.
why is it that most hairdressers interpret "just a little off the ends" as "please go completely mental and give me a half mullet"?!?! and what do you do if they take off too much? do you tell them straight away? do you refuse to pay them?
i had so many awful haircuts when i was younger that i decided to jack it all in and get dreadlocks. i've taken them out but i still have a pathological fear of hairdressers  i've never liked the whole experience of hairdressers apart from when you walk out! the unflattering capes, the uncomfortable basins you have to lie back on to have your hair washed, the mirror you have to sit in front of and stare at yourself for 45 minutes, the hair down the back of your tshirt, the holiday/love life/househunting obligatory conversation with the hairdresser, the "do i tip" worry when you pay.... i just find it way too stressful :rotfl:0 -

My hairdresser holds it up in the mirror, showing how much she's about to cut off, and asking if that's right or too much, etc....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I pay £12.50 for a wash cut and blowdry from a reasonably trendy salon in London. It's a no appointments necessary place (infact they don't make appointments at all, even if you ask), just turn up and wait for the next available stylist or wait a few minutes longer for your favourite stylist if you choose. The £12.50 is a fixed price, doesn't matter if it's a trim or a restyle, a senior stylist or junior.
Hi, would you mind telling me which salon that would be. thanxxxxx0 -
£14.95 for a set of Wahl clippers five years ago.... because I thought £3.50 was a rip off..... I've saved more than I thought!!0
