I pay about the same for a cut and blow dry. £50 for pull thru highlights.
C&BD about every 10 weeks and colouring/C&BD scheduled in every 4 months. It works out that I more or less alternate the two.
Been going to the same man since the mid 80's at a suburban hairdressers (no lilac nets! LOL :rotfl: )
He's likely to retire in the next 5 years, I don't know what I'll do then......
my hairdresser actually moved away from where i live and i now have to go to his salon which is 50 minutes drive away. At first my DH said he wouldn't go that far just for a haircut (my husband has his hair cut by the same hairdresser). He went to a different hair dresser but it turn out he is just as fussy as me. :rotfl: He said he wouldn't go to anyone else and We now go to my hairdresser together. To be honest i think once you find a hairdresser that can cut your hair and you are happy with it they are worth hanging onto. I have never thought of him retiring. I really don't know what i will do.
Glad i am not the only one to have had the same hairdresser for so long. When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile0 -
I spend £33 for a wash, cut and blow dry. I never used to be precious about my hair until I went to this salon when we moved. He listens to me, suggests things that he thinks will suit me and my lifestyle and he's always right.
DH was commenting the other night how before we moved, the previous salon just used to churn us out on a conveyor belt all looking the same whether it suited us or not. To be honest, I thought that I looked ok, but now with Giuseppe I feel great.
And his small talk is pretty good too.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
£12.50 at local college - hi-lites, cut and blow dry0

Writing on this thread last night made me pull my socks up & get to the hairdresser!! I MUST try harder to remember little things like having hair trimmed.;)
Anyway, I have long (again!) hair, slightly wavy and just wanted the scraggy ends cutting off ... so about 2" I suppose and was in there no more than 10 mins and it cost £12. I thought that was pretty dear because it was just straight across, but there!
My DD had wash, cut and blow dry a few weeks ago at one of these places where you don't need an appointment and it cost A TENNER!! It's always very busy in there though. The girl was very pleasant and polite and did a smashing cut and we were both very pleased.0 -

i used to spend £30/£40 a go, but have now started going to a training salon at the local college. takes a while but for under a fiver, i'm very very happy!
Whoops I lied, it's £13 now they've put their prices up, not £12.50 anymore! lol It's http://www.hairbyfairy.com in Covent Garden (make up junkies should stop off at Charles Fox whilst they're in the area too to get some well priced professional make up). I've only ever had my hair cut by them, never had a colour so I don't know how much they charge for that.0 -
Is it very "directional" and funky? I've walked past there a few times and could see how cheap it was - but I tend to go for the classic look and was a bit worried they might be the "adventurous" types...

Im not precious about my hair either.....so I spend virtually nothing
Ditto...last went to a hairdresser circa 1990...do me own colour, (Recital Preference), blunt cut the ends of past shoulder-length hair and feather cut fringe. Heated rollers for height and volume sometimes (Carmens...circa 1970)0 -
Tony and Guy student night every time. £10 plus £3 tip cos its always worth it.£20 for a colour every 6 months or so. Fantastic cut cos they have to be technically perfect. Not bothered about time spent cos its after work and I love salon atmosphere. Always get comments from other people about my hair.0

I pay about £50 for a cut and blow dry - it really needs cutting at the mo! I hate going to the hairdressers tho - I probably go every 10 weeks or so.
Save me from spending...

As I said above I pay £15 for a wash & cut, but I won't pay £10 for an iron because I can do it just as well (if not better, I will do it longer & hotter, so its POKER straight & lasts 2 days perfect).
BUT I would happily pay another £5 for somewhere that did a good head massage while they washed.
There was a young guy at the hairdressers used to be fabulas;)
Magic hands:D
But then he became a qualified hairdresser & stoppped washing, the others are no where near as good as him, now hes left anyway:mad:
I do love it when they put the conditioner in, comb it through & then do a head massage before rinsing:)0
