I cant believe how much money some people spend on their hair!

Im not precious about my hair either.....so I spend virtually nothing :)

I think most women do too much to their hair. All I do to mine is wash it (about twice a week), brush it, and leave it alone. It means my hair is really shiny and healthy and natural looking. You can keep perms / colours / straighteners / hairspray, I think they spoil hair's natural beauty.

Had my haircut by the same guy for 20+ years but he is a long way away. Found a good local hairdresser who charges £47 - however, looked at their website, they have a junior, a trainee, stylist, a senior stylist, a Director and a Designer!! Not sure who cuts mine but everytime I have been there has only been a receptionist and my hairdresser (too frightened to ask her 'ranking' as she may do severe damage - lol). Judging by the lifestyle she leads I don't care about her title, I just know I am paying for it .... good while the convenience lasted but off on my travels to have my man run his fingers through my hair for a third of the cost (money saved will pay for my petrol and give me a weekend away!!)

i can firmly say that my hair without straighening or specially curling is anything but beautiful! without any of that i wake up with the 'stuck my finger in a plug socket' look! i can't pay enormous amounts of money, but it really is necessary to get it back under control :)

I pay virtually nothing. Sisters friend is a hairdresser so she trims it every 6 weeks for me for nothing. She will also highlight it if i want for just the cost of the dye but i havent had that done for a while.

One thing i will say is i have thick curly hair prone to dryness so i spend a fair bit maybe £20 a month on products to keep it under control and non frazzled looking. My hairstraightners were also a small fortune but i have had them 3 years so probably value for money.

Is it very "directional" and funky? I've walked past there a few times and could see how cheap it was - but I tend to go for the classic look and was a bit worried they might be the "adventurous" types...

I've never seen anyone come out with anything other than a classic cut to be honest! Although some of the younger stylists look really funky they don't force their style on to the customers.

Thing is - my sister says that, but to my mind she has the most gorgeous blonde curls that most women would kill for, and should leave them alone (-:

OK I get my hair coloured - but it's mainly to give it body and remove some of the excess grease. The "lighter than my natural shade" suits my skin tone better too.
I'm now at the age when skin starts getting drier but my hair hasn't got the message yet!
I wash and blow dry twice a week at home - no tongs or straighteners for me.
I've stuck to the same suburban hairdresser because he cuts my hair well for a reasonable charge. The decor is a bit '70's, but I can live with that. If it was up to date I'd be paying more for my hair to be done.
I consider myself lucky if I'm offered a coffee (only if I'm there for highlights  ). Head massage isn't on the menu where I go - sounds lovely though.

I normally cut my own hair. The other week i booked in with my friend as she is in a new salon and struggling to get clients a bit and i was feeling flush. She gave me mates rates at £20 i think its normally £30 with her. Well i get there and its very stylish looking place in a very small village. They had massaging chairs! She gave me a shampoo perfect head massage as well. The most stylish haircut i have had in years. I have had no end of comments i just have to save up for the colour/highlights she recommended! I do colour my hair myself but its very hit or miss lol.
