Thanks hopefully that will be the case.

I'm just going to try and enjoy things and not worry about them to much!

Again this is also true. I just think I am running myself down and not believing in myself.

And I am sort of happy on my own, I just miss the company, especially when out with 'couples'.

    Hi Lucy

Just want to add my 2p's worth.

I think the key is that you are "trying" to hard at everything, weight loss, boyfriend hunt. Relax a little and don't make these things your main focus. Think about eating healthily and not about weight loss.

You also need to love yourself. Once you can do this then the rest should fall into place. Decide why you want to lose weight ? Is is because you feel you should ? If so who says so ? Is it because of your health ? In this case concentrate on the sorts of foods that you eat and the amounts, a little of everything in moderation will help, use smaller plates, as the plate will still look loaded and visually you will not feel deprived.

The next suggestion is not so DFW though - do have or know anyone with a nintendo Wii ? If so have they got/could you get Wii Fit ? Just half an hour a day would be a good start, and as you can do a number of different things it isn't boring.

Anyway just my thoughts, but most of all take care of yourself.

    Vanda

Would it surprise you if a physiologist once described me as a perfectionist and a control freak? No I didn't think so :rotfl:

I know I need to do these things, it's just doing them I have the trouble with. Plus I have followed one diet for so long, it's really scary to have to build a normal relationship with food. And I think I am only just realising, how damaging that has been.

As for a Wii, I don't have one and I have a friend who does, but don't think he would like me using one. Would love it though. But does wii fit actually work?

    Hi Lucy

I have just got back from New York and we got flights for £320.00. It's so cheap when you are there to eat out and drink and have fun!!!

    Good Luck with your saving.

    Hey Lucy,

I too only know you from here and your pics on FB, but you seem a lovely person and you're certainly very pretty (I'm not hitting on you!! lol).

I agree with what's been said so far, you sound very like me... I comfort eat whenever I'm down or just for the sake of it!!! I try to stop buying naughty foods but they jump from the shelves into my basket.

I often question my OH about how he could love me cos I don't love myself, I think I'm fat and ugly! That makes me doubt him and we end up arguing over stupid things!

Do you have a bike? Im going to start cycling to work, it's a scary thought but it's a way for me to get fit and to save money by not using petrol.

Anyway - good luck with it all... xxx

Work is 8 miles away so a little far to cycle... I would be at it all day  But I have had a big chat with my mother and we are going to try and get out in the evenings for a walk and even look into doing some aquafit at our local pool.

And there is nothing to stop me getting my bike out at the weekends and going to a ride.

But I did have a massive blow out last night. I was meant to be going to a drink with my best mate to celebrate my Birthday on Monday. She called off at 6.30. She said she wasn't feeling well, but sounded fine to me and the last time she said she couldn't make me another friend spotter her with her Dad in their local!

So I felt lousy and decided to eat to cheer myself up. But all I did was make myself feel worse and made my stomach hurt. So I am going to try and stop that if I can and look after myself for a change and stop worrying about everyone else or what everyone else might think for a change!!

Oh and I bought myself some killer heels to :o

Friday night was good. Was in Swindon at a dance night and got to meet Vincent and Flavia from Strictly Come Dancing. I am now in love!!! And I got a hug!! Once the pics are ready I will post one!

  • Hi Lucy, I know exactly where you are coming from. I was in the exact same situation as you are. And i`m 34. I met my bloke 2 yrs ago on line so thats worth having a look at. I`m still struggling with the debt & the weight but i`m getting there slowly but surely. I have a couple of work mates & we have our own slimming club between the 3 of us. Each week we pay £3 each & then go to our local morrisons & get weighed, we are saving our money up to go away for a weekend in december(you could use that as a way of saving for America) that way you are also reducing your weight whilst saving. Keep it up & i`ll look forward to reading your diary...

    Morning all.

Well 26 today! Happy Birthday me!!! :D

And I have decided that I can change things and when best to do them as one your Birthday! After an interesting weekend where my best friend didn't make the effort to see me, she was down for a christening yesterday. I thought that I need to stop worrying about other people and spend some time on myself.

So Mum and I are now the terrified owners of swimsuits and I am finding out where. when and how much some aquafit classes are going to cost so that we can get fit and tone up a little. I am going to go back to the principals on Slimming World I know it works, but it really doesn't matter if I don't follow it to strictly and I want to enjoy my life.

So I have decided I need to set myself some challenges:

    - Eat healthier
    - Do more exercise
    - Try not to worry about other people to the determent of myself.
    - Try to relax and not anaylsis everything that goes wrong.
    - Enjoy myself!

Whether I manage any of them is another matter, but if I start out positive then I might manage it!
