I,m really into porridge oats at the moment. I dont cook it though, not on the summer! I have them with milk and whatever fruit I can get cheap e.g. bananas and berries and a few chopped nuts or sunflower seeds. I,m not on a diet or a healthy eating binge, I just like it.

Well done MRS MAC and keep going.
SFT as the song says "If you dont have a dream..."
Well first and last shop of the week and I,m confusing myself again. Went to Tesco yesterday and spent £53.25, now, £34.00 of this was clothing and I dont count that as groceries, I also bought flowers so wouldnt normally count that £1.99 (reduced). I then had a BOGOF of £1.32 then used coupons, the final total was £29.04. If I take the clothes from this total I,m actually about 5 quid up then if I take the flowers into account I,m up 7 quid! If I go even further and count the value of points in deals thats another £8.82 but I wont do that.
Update; the skirts too long so taking it back, thats another £12.00 off the bill:D

Are you planning on growing the carrots in the ground or a tub? If you have room for 1 , tubs are brilliant for carrots as they aren't growing in stoney compacted earth..when the carrot hits a stone it will fork..giving you odd shaped carrots -not that they don't still taste good...also if you do them in a deep enough tub..there is less chance of the dreaded carrot fly getting them as they can only fly 12-15" high ..so can't get at them ....a collapsible crate lined with thick cardboard is a cheap way to do it and you can bring the card up high enough to stop the carrot fly ..heck i should get out more... im turning into my mum :rotfl:

Oooh, thanks for all the tips Mrs M. I'm a complete clod when it comes to growing anything, so any advice is greatfully recieved.

I was planning to grow my carrots in a big trough hopefully that will be enough to keep the flys at bay.
Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j

Just popped in to update my sig. Had to go shopping for salad stuff and a few extras for my visitors arriving this afternoon. Have got £198.70 to last until the end of June - but as we are away on 2 weekends I am hoping to manage - fingers crossed. I had a look at the discount vouchers thread last night but never seem to find any for Sainsbury's - am I missing something?

Anyway, best get off here and get on with cooking - going to make hob nobs and the 'wacky' chocolate cake and some rhubarb crumble - oh and I promised a batch of scones for a church fundraiser - so I better get my skates on!

Have a great weekend every one.

    Love M

  • Well last night we had a bill of £58 but nearly half of that was stocking up on cleaning bits and BOGOF hand soap, deoderant and reduced toothpaste *because the box was damaged!* stuff like that. Also treated the other half to dinner as its his birthday so more expensive than it could have been but im still quite impressed with myself that for the first time in ages the amount spent on food was only £30!

We had a vegie week last week and I actually feel much better for having had no meat, so from now on we are going to have half and half weeks, so I hope that out shopping bills will be much more around the £30 mark! :D
Muddling through debt but can't see any light at the end of the tunnel??!!
