I reckon that is going to cut into 20pieces and i worked out it had cost approx £1.80
Just made it... NumNumNumNumNum.... We are just sitting here having a slice and a cuppa watching NCIS...what a great way to spend the evening... Oooh, must make that again, its scrummy... can't wait for the bananas to go brown again
I must admit I only got 12 out of mine - at a push I could get 16 but we are pretty much gannets so probably only 12... Mind you, I didn't double up like you, he he... AND it was the FIRST TIME EVER that I have used my sandwich tin since I brought it about 5 years ago (hangs her head in shame and sulks back to the kitchen for another slice of cake...)

Hubby announced yesterday that he has invited all the family round for a birthday bbq next Sunday. he also let slip that he'd told them about my newly aquired baking skills, so could I make a cake for the occasion. I wouldn't mind, but it's my bloody birthday!
Walked to the nice butchers near me to buy the meat, spent £17,92, but got enough for the day, plus loads more for after. I had to walk uphill on the way home, so dd insisted on riding on the buggy board. I calculated that the pram, 2 kids and shopping weighs about 6 1/2 stone, so that was good exercise. Thanks to all the lovely people on here I have managed to cut my hours down to 2 days a week, allowing me to spend more time with my gorgeous Children. :j0 -
Oh that dispatches programme! How could they waste all that food???? What a truly horrific thing. But her comment that a saving of £700 per year (just on the basics) would "keep her in shoes for the year" had me really seeing red!Resolution:

where do i get silcome trays from?
Asda do 12 silicone muffin cases (and also fairy cake cases in a similar tub) for £2 - bargain! You just stand them on a baking tray and they don't 'sag' as paper cases would. You could also stand them in muffin tray holes if you *really* wanted toThey also do silicone cake 'tins' and a loaf tin - from memory £5 each

Yes toucan is still on fridge, but not sure we'll stick to that adventure as when OB does get a new job, he won't be able to take a month off straight away like we'd planned
BUT we will use evey penny we've saved from this challenge for a new adventure.. considering India, Nepal/Bhutan/Vietnam/Costa Rica at the moment. Once we know we'll sort out the pictures on the fridge according to what we'll see... they are a great source of inspiration.
Really pleased to hear it SFT, I hope he has some luck soon, and as you say, photo's are really inspirational - glad you never lost your dream, just moved the goalposts! :TLBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -

I know it was astounding- sometimes I wonder if these people are primed to say things like that though?
Just on here to update sig before bed. Spent £2.39 on 4 pinter of milk, 300g of breaded ham and a tin of Ambrosia Macaroni which was end of line so reduced. Not bad and shouldn't need any grocery spending til after weekend now. (I'm away this weekend and won't get near any shops, also my food will be paid for)

hello my little chikadees, spent more money yesterday but I couldnt help it. Got the £5 deal from Tesco/ NOTW giving £5 wys £30 also had £3.50 wys £35 and £5 off L'Oreal Derma Genisis amongst others (this has been reduced to £11 odds) So bought 6 chicken breasts, 3 slices of Sirlion, big pack of mince, 6 pork loin steaks and a pack of cod loins (didnt know they had em!) milk and potatoes. Spent £19.71 after coupons. Can that be bad ? I ask you. Of to change sig then bed, busy day tmrw, 1 sandwich shop, breafast, home for an hour or two then two burger shops (they phoned to ask me and I,m just a girl who cant say no) they're giving me extra money though. All this on top of a full time job and trying to look after my veggies, also I had a bonfire of garden rubbish tonight and my eyes are ready to fall out of my head. Did you all watch dispatches tonight " the real price of food" huh amatuers. Hope your all doing well and the crunch isnt nibling at your toes.
EDIT) Oh right some of you did then. tee-hee, night.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j

This might sound really sad, but I also use Excel to store my recipes, a new page for each one with a front index page. I cost some of them out too. It's good to be able to compare waht you are saving.
Mrs Mc hope you get your flights OK, I'm sure your family will be happy to see you!2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013
