Been away since the 13th on self catering hol (centerparcs and house sitting for friend who lives on the coast) so kept to the challenge.
It was easier than I thought, and everyone chipped in with the cooking.

Too much here for me to catch up with so well done to everyone on target and chin up to those who will miss target (don't worry we all have at some point) and hugs to those who need them.

Off to read as much as I can over the next 2 hours.....and I used to have a go at DD for being on the computer all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SAV3R - do you need to grease silcone trays or you grease proof paper?

You do not need to do anything when using these trays, they come out quite easily.

PS just looked on Lakeland site, they have doughnut silicon trays at 1/2 price. http://www.lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx/!11679
I don't think I would be clever enough to make these.

Have just watered down milk whilst dh out (feel bad being sneaky but if I told him, he would say it tasted funny even if it didn't) fingers crossed he won't notice at breakfast tomorrow, and we can save a little bit more money this month. Still on target this month, need to do Mr t, tomorrow but determined just to get fruit. Have to get few bits for lunch on wed as taking daughter to show in london but dh has said he would like to treat us so that won't come out of gc budget :-)

Did anyone watch Dispathces on Channel 4? Can't believe the amount of food they were throwing away, or the amount they were all spending on food in the first place. My budget is one of the highest on here and I think thats a lot. But I am working on it.

Have had a bash at pizza and made a great 9 inch cheesy garlic bread with 1/2 the dough and saved 4 cooked pieces, the other half is in the freezer for next week.

2 batches of twinks and a bag of clothes for friend tomorrow who will give me 2 doz eggs I hope and a free range chuck.

Cooked off 3 batches of lentils and popped in freezer.

Have got 4 new recipes for refried beans, guacamole, choc sauce and cinnamon syrup. And now I have jam jars I can make choc sauce and the syrup to keep.

Cereal n toast for brekkie tomorrow, leftovers with tonights garlic bread.Everyone will have different 1.Chili with garlic jkt.2.Pasta with red pepper sauce.3.Chili n rice.

Popcorn after tea for a treat.

The lolly moulds are being well used with diluted pure juice or squash so making a great saving there.

Popped out and bought just what I needed - a cucumber.Had to check prices in all 3 shops and it was cheapest in the middle one.

Will need flour and sugar and milk but ok for butter and oats and spices.

OH is finally back in the UK so have had a 2 hr skype with him telling me we had a post box full of freebies that he'll bring over on Thursday and we won £150 on the premium bonds - yippee.

Will also stock up on jaffa cakes, batter mix and bun cases courtesy of himself.

G'nite all,off to check on me veggies new home.

  • I saw the first part of the Dispatches programme and couldn't believe that lady was spending so much considering she had a family and a husband who will shortly be out of a job!!!

Old boyfriend hasn't got a job yet, but is applying. A few weeks ago we went away for a nice weekend at a Youth Hostel in Suffolk, which I think we both needed...courtesy of clubcard vouchers from Mr T...was on a working farm and the countryside was just beautiful.
Yes toucan is still on fridge, but not sure we'll stick to that adventure as when OB does get a new job, he won't be able to take a month off straight away like we'd planned
BUT we will use evey penny we've saved from this challenge for a new adventure.. considering India, Nepal/Bhutan/Vietnam/Costa Rica at the moment. Once we know we'll sort out the pictures on the fridge according to what we'll see... they are a great source of inspiration.

Mrs M-Take care. Thinking of you and your family.
