    Morning all :D

im into double figures ...day 10 NSD in a row :j ...nearly gave into temptation to go to ALDI this morning for extra fruit and then talked sense into myself..have loads of oranges, a pineapple and then tinned apricots, pineapple, a big jar of cherries and a carton of apfelmus.. so i have no NEED for more...i only eat more when i have it :p .. And as im not shopping ANYWHERE on a Saturday and everywhere is close on a sunday... i will make at least 12 NSDs in a row  :rotfl:

Hubby has requested poache eggs on toast for dinner..that he will make as "someone" can't poach eggs  and whilst im confessing i can't soft boil the bloomin things either..well I couldn't before my mum got me an eggy boiler :rotfl:(have to say that my eggy boiler does perfect eggs every time and really quickly) I can cook anything else but those 2 -well i can't be diddled to stand there watching or timing them :o .... In my defence though -i am making a nice fresh loaf of bread today for the toast :D

The hm tortillas with feta and hm coleslaw were stunning last night..a definite -"do again" -which is a good thing as we have 5 blocks of feta in :T and i have loads of salad leaves as it has ben rainy and cool for about a week so they are going crazy -not that any will go to waste

I have nearly finished the meal plan for July..just a few "tweaks" to do....
have loads of pak choi ready so i can feel stir fry coming on :D oooh and i have loads of sugar snaps ready too :T

 My next door neighbour has just been round to ask if she can put some stuff in my "restmull bin" -basically anything that isn't recyclable.. She has cleaned out her fridge and filled her bin and has 3 carriers full of food that has gone off that won't fit in her bin:eek: .....she admitted that its about the same every month  stuff she has opened and then left at the back of the fridge whilst ramming more stuff in front of it -no wonder we are constantly hearing her and hubby arguing about money and how much she spends  .... When i said i can't remember the last time i threw anything away she was amazed... then again she always has to use our bins as an "overflow" for hers... i never have more than 1 carrier a month in mine :rotfl: and thats only things like meat bones (once they have been boiled to death of course ;) )....

right enough rambling i had better get back off to my x stitching/knitting... have a great day everyone

Well done Mrs M, I can see you running the cupboards dry just so you don't spend anything now :rotfl: - it's horrible breaking something when you're on a roll... Good luck...

And a flaw... so you are human! :rotfl: there is hope for us all... (only joking, you are an inspiration to all! :T )

I must admit that since I started recycling, I don't get much waste at all now - didn't even put anything out today when the binmen came. even DS & DD recycle now since I got myself a draw system to seperate plastics, paper, etc. It's one of those 4 draw plastic jobbies that they sell for about £10-£15 in the cheap shops - it sits quite nicely in the kitchen and we keep the top draw for tins/plastics, etc, next one for paper, next for veg waste for the composter (it's ok, only peelings, eggshells, teabags, etc - no wastage from my fridge) and the bottom one for glass. It really works and I just empty them into recycle bags as they fill up - I am not going to pay the council money for throwing my rubbish away!

I can also see some MSE OS GC training days being held in Germany - have you given her the web address or are you going to start your own groups - it could be called the 'FTA' - Fridge throwers annonymous! :rotfl: You could take their grocery money off them and make them go cold turkey  - ohh, might get someone to do that to me!:D

    Hello!
Just a quick on eto update the sig...
Spent £2.60 in Mr T Metro on some lunch for today - I'm annoyed as its the first day in weeks and weeks that I've actually paid for lunch and not brought it with me.
Anyway, usually I would have just ignored that spend but I'm trying to be good and so I've added it to my GC total.

Will only need a bit of veg this weekend so I'm hoping to spend less than a fiver that should get me through to the end of next week and the end of my challenge - hopefully under budget:T
    Famous last words?????

    Have a good weekend
    R

PS Does anyone know if there are any pick your own fruit farms in the South Manchester area that would have strawbs and rasps on the go now?

I'm not posting my total for this month as it's far to embarrassing to admit to :o:eek:

However, I am in again next month. This time I'm doing it on a weekly basis. Yesterday I went through our finances with a fine toothcomb. We have monthly money which goes into the bank (DH's pay) and weekly cash (child benefit and family income supplement). I've averaged out all our costs for the past 12 months and will be reinstating my "budget boxes" - and including one for school uniforms and shoes. So our weekly budget for food/cleaning will be £84.45. I don't think it will be possible to get it down what with prices rising at the rate they are doing. I've worked out that out of the weekly cash I will have the grand total of (drum rolls purleeeese!) £1.11 left over :rotfl:. So I've opened a "savings" box for that, and any left over money from the food budget (if there is any ) will go in there. So it means we can save £57.72 a year :rotfl::j

I will also be more careful with the bank money. We need to get the overdraft right down, but if all goes well after all essentials have gone out we will have roughly £285 a month to go towards other things like non-school clothes and car repairs and unexpected bills.
